Character Response

The character response time to being hit with a sword seems sort of long. Admittedly, being hit with a sword should be staggering like that. Maybe more animations later on in production, with varying places of impact causing different time delays? I'm just an artist, not a programmer, and I understand that this game is early on in development. Great job so far though!

You have it right, for now I only have the one animation but there will be lots of different injury/impact animations for different bodyparts and directions, with different lengths.

I rather like how toward the end the guy in red is doing his best to avoid being surrounded. I certainly hope that that's the AI in practice rather than a human controlled character.

You know I had almost this exact same idea for a game (the whole game not just the video) very amazing stuff you did, makes me a little depressed that you managed to do all this on your own. Anyway looking forward to a release (in October now if I get it right) PS: don't forget to add dodging cant have sword fighting without dodging a majority of fighting is dodging, don't want to waste your energy blocking everything.

I love your game desgin JUST love it. No more clicking on monster and than circle appear on the head this is brilliant. I do have a suggestion that i'd think would be cool but will definately take a while. You could add guilds in the game, with each guild learning a different type of sword style. And dont limit the skills to one hit and cooldown. Make them into a combo, like how u would learn it in a real dojo. E.g make guild that teaches iaido nitouryu n sort of.
