Hello everyone, been watching Kenshi for a long time now, bought it recently and I've run into a bit of a problem after buying a house.

Power problems specifically, rendering my mining shop in Mongrel basically inoperable. Googling around a bit, I've found out I'm barely using 40ish power and my machines (smithing machine/research bench level 3) won't run no matter how much juice I produce.

Could I be powering the entirety of Mongrel or something? That's the only thing I can think of. If I am, maybe there's something I can do to fix it? Built my generator/battery indoors as well as some people on steam forums suggested.

Ah yeah.. That is actually a problem. When you purchase a building inside town, you are using that town's power supply. If you build your own, you're contributing to that town's power. It's sort of a double edged sword. If the windmills of the town are bringing in power, you've got a free source of power, but it also means you have to deal with the entire town's power needs..

the issue with the fog islands is they used to get more wind, now they get more or less zero. mongrel's already built windmills become useless.
