This is Shavaar...
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/f ... =253276129

I imagine she weighs somewhere in the area of 60kg. She is currently packing 105kg on her, which is a total of 165kg, (360 lbs)..

When she gets knocked out, she gets picked up by a cannibal (while she's in the process of standing up, mind you, due to her toughness resulting in no downtime... which is another issue..), I watch as the cannibal nearly unhindered continues to jog around the desert with her, whereas that cannibal has a str of 19.

360 lbs... If they are even going to be Allowed to pick her up, i want that bastard crawling at an amazing speed of 2 meters per minute, with a combat skill of -50.. That is just silly

On another note, it's a bit silly that when I have people weighed down with backpacks, it's simplest to have a character with less str than them, pick them up and move them around, because they seem to move faster than the person carrying all the weight...

Yup, this has been a known thing for a while.

Currently, whenever a char is Picked Up by another, the carrier char is only encumbered by a flat amount representing the weight of the body being carried.
Beyond that, no weight is added to the carrier char, and it is expected that this will be fixed in the future but is of low importance.

And technically, it would be faster to laden the low Str char and have the high Str char carry the laden char.
Then the high Str char can run at top speed since only the laden char's body weight is taken into account.

And you've encountered the latest thing, where NPCs that are going to Pick Up some char on the ground (in your case, Cannibals wanting that unconscious body over there) are going to Pick Up that desired char regardless if the char regains consciousness, is picked up by another, etc.
They will just yoink the body into their arms and be on their way.
This affects all NPCs that have Goals to Pick Up any bodies (i.e. Find and Rescue Leader or anything to do with Bounties you've sold).

And you say there is an issue with Toughness being too high?

More so I was meaning the issue was that she was being picked up even when she was conscious. Just in the "standing up" state.(the bug you said above) It's also not just npc's. You can do it too, aswell as even loot things while they're conscious aslong as you click loot before they stand up. And regardless of anything at that point, if you have their inventory screen open, you can freely loot them as you please, even if they are fighting.

Also, my last mention was because I have a couple chars that have high athletics, but no str. My high str chars do not have that significant of athletics. So yes, there is a variable change there maybe it isn't extreme.

And on that note, will people ever be able to do anything while they're being carried fully conscious?

I see this as a double edged sword. As I find myself carrying enemy units to cages a lot for training and usually I put them in a bed after I knock them out to regenerate their health faster and pick them up a few seconds before they weak up; however, this means that if it was changed I would have to be careful of bringing back prized units to be trainers.

I sort of in my mind imagine they are being carried bound so a struggle is more difficult due to having their hands and feet either tied or shackled. I do think that someone with a high thieving skill should be able to "escape" these bonds and break free to run away if possible much alike how they are able to do that with cages.

Shavaar currently has 51 str and 37 dex. She can't struggle off the shoulder of a cannibal with 20ish in those?

It's a double-edged sword, but it's logical and justified.
The way I see it, is if someone comes conscious while being carried, you have to knock them out again. Kinda like in real life... As it stands, I could have a character with 1 in everything, and freely pick up a ninja, and stand around in town forever and not have to worry about a thing. Not really how it should work. But without getting too complicated and critical about stats, I think overall it really should just be that if someone wakes up while being carried, they should be dropped, and have to be subdued again. A way to get around this, is sure, in the future, maybe add some kind of binding mechanic that requires material, and time based on skills, like the med kits. That makes sense. And additionally, it could be as you had said, that thievery might aid in you escaping at that point. But right now it's just throwing them over your shoulders, and regardless of how conscious they are, they're just as helpless as a corpse.

We had all the same ideas! And yours has a better solution. They just pop off all shoulders immediately as soon as you regain consciousness. I can see that. They just go straight from being carried to "Getting Up". Would this also affect your own characters when their squadmates are picking them up? Though, I guess if weight was factored in properly, in almost all cases it would be faster for them to limp rather than be carried.

Maybe they could make use of the already present shackles to subdue downed enemies? To be honest, I really wish we'd been given the opportunity to make use of the slavery/prisoner mechanic more. But if we slapped shackles on them and they automatically followed us, we wouldn't even have to carry them.
