Eternal Vigilance: The Price of Pastry

New factions have risen. In the West. a group of traders peddle their crust enclosed vessels of nourishment. In the East the sound of buzzing gathers. In the North a group of raiders have arrived that are so powerful that the Holy Empire and the United Cities are both directly threatened.

My original goal was to add a faction that was a challenge after pillaging whole towns had lost it's appeal. This ushered in the Khan's and the expansion of the existing forces. I continued to add in other things that the forum suggested. It will be constantly evolving, and you are completely welcome to attribute material yourself. If your interested please PM me.

Features:
3 completely new factions
New units for all existing factions
New challenges
New Equipment
Weapon range expanded to Truth II, found in elite mobs.

Installation:
1. Copy data folder in rar to your Kenshi folder.
2. Add the line "EVTPOP.mod" (no quotes) to mods.cfg file using notepad.

Status:
I plan to continue updating and adding items. If anyone is interested in helping please PM me. Since this mod does contain new armors (and pastry!) they will not show up in your game if you stop using the mod.

Curent version: updated January, 27 2013
Pastry, once a dream...now a reality.

Bugs:

Some of the mobs have some twitchy behaviorisms
Holy Paladins are infiltrating the Bee-Army
Please feel free to pm me with bugs that you find (obvious puns aside).

You can download it here:

Strawberry hats by popular demand! (By Hvizeu)

Coming soon:
A khan fortress that you can raid
A method for summoning Beedorum to usher in the Bee-Apocalypse (it will be awesome).
Crazy Vasili and his ... 'store'.

ok this mod is on steroids

i don't no about the west or east people be the north people are freaking insane. their leaders are almost unbeatable against the holy empire (even with thier new guy). i have only see the red and yellow guys and their new guys have awesome stats but the raider leader can take any of them single handedly (i'm not absolutly sure about the yellow guy but 1 leader deafeated 3 of the new red guys and 2 of the paladins).

i think this mod is great but mabye nerf the raider leader, but to make sure the raiders still have an advantage you could give them more people.
I'M BACK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and i bought kenshi!!!!!!!!!

Yes, the khans are difficult. I had them set so that they were a challenge for my full squad. Before 2.64 factions were handled very crudely. Now there is more refinement, I am working on this now. I plan to start the khans as neutral, but they will approach you for money (just when your passing through) and tax your property. I wish I knew how to spawn a patrol on location, because it would be in their mentality (as nomadic invaders) to actually protect you once you are taxed. Some street patrols around your building would be appropriate (and scary), if any one knows how to do that let me know.

The Khans are centered up north, and are far less common in the south. The leader of the army spawn is really tough...and equipped very well. I have put a couple of my squad in defensive stance just to occupy him while the rest of my guys took out the rest of the group. I have to bandage to stabilize fallen comrades during combat too. Its difficult, and their aggression should be addressed by making them more 'diplomatic'. I like having the proverbial great white shark out there though, it gives you a reason to look around on those pretty sand dunes.

The rewards for beating him are nice, something to work towards.

Edit: That northern group is now neutral. It will begin attacking towns when faction is enabled, and will visit your house when taxing is enabled. For now though, they are content in attacking bandits.

Edit2: and now the taxing is enabled. Total Faction war is yet to materialize.

And so it begins..........The PlEs to the west..... the bee(s) to the east......Kenshi people nestled in the middle.

Alright, the Kenshi forum lore now a reality. :D

I did not think you were serious. But lo' and behold, the mod forum too has been invaded by p i e and b e e s. Mr b e e salesman would be happy.

EDIT: Ok, I tried it out on a pre-existing save. Couldn't find any of the new people. but I didn't look evry long. is it save game compatible?

It is not. Sorry, I just checked. I am not sure how that works actually. An easy way to check if the mod working is by looking at the army or town patrols. If they have new units it is. If the paladins are wearing dark chain bandannas it is. I had trouble finding the bee-keepers and pastry folks myself the first time I looked. They should be in the south. In the North you should see a new raider group.

Edit: I have not actually added pastry yet. But, I think I see how. Expect that towards the end of the week. I think I could make it a building material, so then you could make a house of P|E.

Unfortunately, my plans of leprechaun ninja's is being put on hold until I figure out how to make short people.

I seem to be getting a Saints Row III vibe from this mod.

Yeah...well, thats probably pretty appropriate. I never played Saints Row, seemed like such a silly thing. Fine no house of pastry then.

A bug I have found is that apparently there is only one diplomat line, and assault group for Kenshi. When the diplomat shows they may say the Khan or the black dragon dialog...regardless of who showed up...and when they assault, both groups show up.

Its kind of a big attack...not overly tricky (black dragon are squishy) and the khans arent that numerous. I will see to this in the next update, along with the addition of pastry...that you can eat...or hoard forever in your fortress...made of building materials.

If I can figure out how to attach patrols to buildings then the new factions will get towns. Maybe even NPCs and a couple of quests.

I was torn between medical supply and a ranged weapon but in the end I found the idea of p i e discus weapons as too good to pass up. I hope you can figure out a way to do so. I expect that it probably won't work though until chris implements some sort of ranged ability.

Plus, it might be interesting to have hive weapons that shoot b e e s as the alternative weapon on the other side. Then we can have a true fight for dominance.

You are right (the same is true with food). I am quietly hoping there might be some thrown weapons so that knives could be replaced with pastry. But loading one into a cross bow and firing it like a blueberry filled discus has merits too.

I am planning something a little different with bee-keepers :)

They clearly shouldn't be food. That is just too obvious.

I reopened the poll, and I have bees (edit: I mean to say pastry, the censor got me) in the game I think...but I want to check a couple of things before I release the next update.

PlE shaped breastplate? How fearsome would it be to see an army of PlE shaped minions running toward your settlement.
