What is "Kenshi Life"?

Kenshi Life is a complete overhaul of the current game, it adds new Factions, NPCs, Rivarlys and plenty more features.

So what is the main intentions of this modification?

When I began creating this modification I was doing it for my own personal wants, of what I desired in the game. This being a larger population of the world, that ranged from huge armies that patrolled around the world, to the smaller things such as Homeless beggars patrolling cities and towns for nothing more than some simple change. I really pictured Kenshi coming into life, I wanted to see other NPC's getting on with daily life that made me feel as if I was doing just the same.

So what are the main features of the game, and what will we see in later updates?

Well currently its just an idea that i'm putting into the game, I have a pictured path that I am taking and it seems to be going great at the moment. Below is a list of things that are either already implemented into the modification or still being developed.

- The world will be split into two halves, each side is either ruled by the United Nations or The Brotherhood. (These are explained below.)
- Each faction currently in the game and also new to the game will either be banded with the United Nations/The Brotherhood or solo Factions.
- Two main factions, The Empire & Waru Oni.
- More advanced NPC's & Dialogues.
- Huge battles.
- Plenty more items and craftable weapons.
- A balanced system that doesn't give the player any beneficial sides that the original game doesn't.
- A fully written history of the world & Factions.
- More Character choices, each will give the player a new aim to achieve in-game.
- World Design redone.
- New machines that give the player different items.
- Banks/Loans/Savings.
- "Mounts" - To be thought about, this is not confirmed.
- Plenty other ideas, that are still in development and are not worth mentioning at this time.

Can you explain in more detail some of the features?

First I will explain about the world itself and how I intend to design it. Ok so my main intentions regarding the world was to split it in half, not physically but with two different sides that were filled with Factions, So each side goes under a name this name isn't a Faction more of just a name given to link all the Factions that fall under it together.

So the first side which I suppose you could call civilized and structured is the "United Nations" which occupies the west side of the world, a list of Factions in this area are as followed.

- The Empire
- The Holy Nation
- Imperial Guards
- Etc.

The East side of the map is run by the less civilized and corrupt Factions, the name they go by is "The Brotherhood". Same as above they hold the aggressive Factions.
- Waru Oni
- All Bandit Factions
- Crime Syndicates.
- Etc.

So above you can see that the sides both have a new Faction, this being "The Empire & Waru Oni". so I will explain a little more in detail about both of these Factions as they now play a major role in the world. The Empire hold a huge city that up keeps the law and makes sure that citizens in the surrounding area are protected, they are also the most dominant Faction for the "United Nations", No more information can be given at this time about The Empire as I'm still tweaking alot of the details and Faction relations with this Faction.
Waru Oni on the other hand are the dominant force that occupy "The Brotherhood" area, they are very tribal and have a huge army. They believe that The Empire has stolen their land and will stop at nothing to retake what they believe is theirs.

This is about enough information to which I can give at the moment, as I said this is in heavy development and I want to make sure I have everything set out in stone before presenting any more of it. This is not a thread that is going to die out, I will be updating it when I have made enough progress to present a new features. However I can tell you a few things I will be using in the creation of this Mod.

- 3D Software for Custom Buildings/Weapons/Armour/NPC's/General Clutter.
- In-depth dialogues, that are professionally written.
- Custom content regarding menu's etc.
- High Definition Textures created by myself.
- Advanced Faction Structures.
- Things placed in the world that are plausible, nothing will be made that seems to unrealistic or silly to how the original game is set.

Pictures will be put up soon, I'm currently struggling to get the world editing working so until I can find a fix or the construction set is updated I will be stuck with a very plain Thread, my apologizes.

Sounds 2 awesome to be true :D I hope you will finish your mod someday. I'd be happy to test it.

Also, one request... Can you make animals? Like wolves, bears, lions and "sand worms" to fight with? And moose, monkeys, rabbits, deer and "sammoths" to hunt for meat and hides? I just love hunting life in games.

Currently i'm going through the long and tedious area of modeling so until I have enough to show this thread will remain as it is, however with animals i'm sure I can do something like that I'm still trying my hardest to get the construction set working as it seems to be very buggy currently and crashes often so as soon as I can fix that or Chris updates it then Animals will be on the list but just something I do later on.

Hi, i like your enthusiasm for the game, althoug those are fairly big changes, that copy exactly whats planned for this game.. seems to me you would do what devs are doing..

anyway. i got inspired by this game to learn 3d modelling and i enjoy it.. now i use the experience for interier modelling and plan to take side work in that area...

so in order to improve myself i want to help you with 3d modelling part..

What i know:
Blender 2.67, quite a decent lvl.
i know how to get my models into kenshi (exports/converters and such..)
i know how to work with construction set.. (i made functioning steel bars storage box, where characters brought bars automatically..), i know how to make faction and such.. how to assign textures to materials-parts-buildings...
i dont know how to get textures into .dds to show properly on my models ingame... at least, i didnt figure it out 100% but i know the theory..

If you want, you can send me some side jobs.. (like model a shed) then i make it and show it to you..
I want to do it to better myself.. get feedback on my work.. you get to have something done.. what do you say?

This mod will probably never be released. The guy that created it hasn't been around since August of 2013.

You need to check your time stamps guy.

I was just working on trying to make a mod like this myself.

Have you figured out how to get villagers and civilians to work on farms and mines so that the towns will look lively and bustling with activity?

And do you know how to add small amounts of weaker guards and some civilians to player towns? (for immersion)

So far, there isn't any coded AI for these activities contained within the F.C.R.

There are ways, but to honest, they aren't very reliable or even practical. Most of the experiments I've conducted usually ended with either the player town being completely taken over by another NPC town, or NPC's taking over the player faction, making recruiting or moving your characters impossible. Other times, my characters vanished completely, the world became unstable, and NPC's stopped spawning all together.

If anyone ever develops a reliable method for it however, hopefully they'll post it in the modding section.
