Features:

- Able to recruit almost any characer currently in the game. The only exceptions to what characters can't be recruited include 'Caravan Traders', 'Outpost Boss'', other traders, and Hostile NPCs.
- Cost to recruit ANY character is 700 cats.

Included is an extra file. Use this one if you would like to start with an additional 4000 starting money to pay for recruiting characters to your party.

Installing:
Place the desired file to your Kenshi\Data folder, choose only one or the other. Then, in the same folder, open up 'mods.cfg' and add the name of the .mod file you placed in the data folder exactly as it is under a new line to the cfg file. For example, 'AllCharRecruitable.mod', without apostrophes.

I can't be blamed responsible if anything happens to your game from using this. Kenshi is still in early stages and bugs might still be found not related to using this mod. Testing has been done by me and characters should join without problems. However, note that a lot of characters have very good stats for what they are worth at the beginning of the game. It is up to you whether or not to recruit whom, bear in mind this mod just adds the option of doing so.

Have fun!

I was thinking while reading the top bit that you should change the recruitment cost for the better guards.

I mean, the balance is completely gone. <_<

A character with 1 on all stats is worth 700....One of the guys full geared with 30+ to all stats.....should be much more expensive.

But as you said, I guess it's up to the player.

Overall, nice mod though. ^_^

Not 100% sure, but I think it's hardcoded - for now anyway. Otherwise I would have changed it. :)

Oh, I thought you could change the value on the dialogue option join squad.

I thought if it was left at 0 it would default to 700 or be free.
Have you tried changing it, it might be possible.

Granted if it's default, you add ANOTHER option to it, use the give gold one as well as join squad.
Change the give gold value to -1,000 or -10,000 or w/e and it SHOULD take the gold from you as opposed to giving it to you.

I'm waiting for the next update where the issues with the CS SHOULD be fixed. ;)

Tried it a few days ago, doesn't seem to affect it, at this stage anyway.

Also tried this, neither negative nor positive values affected the actual value of how much gold was given. The fixed amount of 100 gold is given to the player when it's used, although I think it can be used multiple times.

So in perspective, the only thing I could do was make it cheaper to hire them by giving gold to the player through the dialogue when they join the squad. If you think about it, that could even be abused (The player can select the option for the Character to join them even if they don't have the money required, meaning they'll still be given the money, and repeat the dialogue again until they do have the required amount of 700 to recruit them.

Last workaround I had was to give the recruitable character a negative sum of money, as the total gold of the party takes into account the gold from all members of the party, correct? But had no luck.

In the end I just left it.

It's outdated eh, does it still work?

And darn, not being able to change those values makes things difficult, we'll have to find another way.

@Syn I think after Chris releases updates to the FCS it will work ok :)

@Ironfist It should work, but it just hasn't been tested with the latest version. The mod overwrites all the files to the game, so if there were any changes to the original game files in the latest update it will be overwritten with the mod until a fix is made to the FCS allowing us to use mods that don't overwrite every file in the game :) Hope that makes sense.

Does anyone know how to update this one to the most recent patch?

I'd like some more guys in my party but the low level ones are soooo terrible.

Or maybe I just want recruits that are wearing more than pants....

I'd like to see this updated as well. I think the available squadmates - though you get to customize them - are a bit limiting (one guy in most towns you can recruit, from my experience and a few Let's Plays I've watched).

Updated the mod, sorry about the inactivity. You should be able to use this with future versions without overwriting any changes that are made to the game. I haven't managed to test if everything works okay still, however.
