Just like me, I am sure the majority of you are thrilled about Kenshi. I have noticed a lot of the topics on this board have been questions and praises to Chris. Consequently, I thought it would be pleasurable to create a topic where we can natter about things relating to the game, life and other things we deem loquacious. And don't forget, the Last to post is the winner.
I am winning now.

Apple bees in donuts.
I want to hear more about the research aspect of the game. Anyone have any inside gossip?

all Chris has to do is kick me in the face for being, aloof. then close the thread for a win.
Well some one is drunk with power ^^^
lol Was there any mention of firearms in this game? That would be cool I thought there would be since it has the wildwest theme goin on.

At first it's us that makes our actions,
But in the end it's our actions that define us.
But in the end it's our actions that define us.
Actually upon first seeing this game the current setting reminded me heavily of a kind of 'post-apocalyptic no too distant future, where nuclear war or some other disaster took place several hundred years ago and nearly wiped out humans while utterly destroying most of the surface of the planet.'
So, somehwere in Japan after the apocalypse, a hundred or so years after the surface became habitable again. There could even be visual clues dotted about the desert which enforce this theory, without ever just coming out and revealing why the world is this way - because no one living knows for sure. One example idea is the 'graveyards' from the anime Desert Punk;

This would tie in neatly for the need for there to be a way to restore severed limbs - finding extremely rare parts, ancient schematics, doing research etc and constructing robotic replacements.
Who knows, maybe even discovering the reasons behind the apocalypse could be a goal for the player? By asking people who know tiny bits of information about the past, exploring and doing some field research on ruins and slowly piecing together events until the player has the full story etc. Could be fun.

Actually, Peasant, I think that makes sense. Judging from what I saw in the new trailer, it does look like a 'post-apocalyptic' not too distant future. Mainly the architecture and the fashion. Robots on the other hand, maybe robots without the lasers and crazy guns will be cool. I personally don't have problems with guns in games, but I am not a fan of them in RPG-RTS games. Still, robots would be cool. Do you think their will be mounts for travel? Walking that desert will take a long time.

I would also like to find out about the researching aspect of the game. There is no game i'm more excited about playing this year! I have literally imagined myself designing a game exactly like this, the sooner Lord Chris releases a playable version of this game, the sooner my dream is fullfilled

Research and crafting wont be in the game for a long time yet. Basically you will be able to research better weapons, armour and building upgrades then craft them. For crafting things you will need a building with the right facilities installed, and a supply of materials. You can equip your own guys or sell the stuff in your shops. Upgrades you research will be used for your buildings/turrets/defenses to make them more secure, efficient and defendable.
so if you need materials youu could have a group of gathers and some bodygaurds to go searching and building/crafting, you can have a group of builders and groups of siolders, etc.? that would be cool if it was like that and you could have certain groups hot keyed to the numberpad or something like that

Or instead of having a group of guys to go harvesting, You could perhaps have a group of guys. To go steal things... Pillage... steal? Yeah.
Oh I'm winning.

Hey guys, I only recently realized this, but I read in the FAQ that the combat system would emulate things such as "internal organs, pain level, arteries, various states of conciousness, exhaustion, and crippledness". Which sounds like the Dwarf Fortress (epic) damage system. But with (better) ☼graphics☼!
Though I suppose that's kinda normal, since any sufficiently advanced damage simulations are indistinguishable from DF damage simulation (See what I did there). Anyway, I look forward to stabbing some kidneys. Hmm, I suppose kidney harvesting would be stretching it a bit too far?
Oh, and winning.

Actually I have since removed the organ damage mechanics, and exhaustion hasn't been done yet. But there is plenty of crippledness.
