I can't count how many times i've tried to rotate my inventory items, lol.
Would be such a big help especially when trying to carry a 2H katana outside of the weapon slot.
Unless you can, then someone please tell me how lol

Well... I wouldn't be so sure... I myself have never seen even one game, that has inventory based on space that objects require, that rotation of those objects could be possible.
PS. Sry for my English, had some problem writing it
Hope u get my point.

Yes, I knew there ARE games that have this. Just couldn't think any. I just wanted to say that there are many games where you can't rotate, so it can't be said that "Yeah this will totally be implemented"

yeah, i get your point. i just don't think it would be hard to implement at all and would make carrying stuff so much easierSantaissick wrote:Yes, I knew there ARE games that have this. +1 For Inventory Rotation. I would personally be cramming my backpack full of items I just murdered a man for. Leave nothing behind.

It would be nice but you gotta remember that it might not be so doable.
those games you mentioned that have it, are from big companies so you expect such things.
The easier function would be to increase the inventory size by 1 space, unless ofcourse Chris wants it so you can only carry more than 1 of these swords.

+1, would like to have it as well
Resurrecting, since inventory rotation is the only point i liked from the recent "Specifying Storage" post, and found out that the separate topic does already exist.

Doesn't really bother me because I prefer traveling light and getting rid of junk in my base by selling it to the nearby village(found three lost armouries, left everything except some edge 3 weapons behind - they'll still be there unless I reset the map). But I can totally see how this is a huge complaint for packrats and OCD people.
I'm afraid I must disagree. The reason items can't be rotated now is because you are not SUPPOSED to be able to carry them without the help of a backpack. For example, if you able to rotate inventory, you could be carrying 4 Fragment Axes, AND using 1 while using a sidearm, without wearing any clothing or a backpack. Not only that, but allowing inventory rotation would cause players to spend more time playing Tetris in inventory while paused, instead of getting on with the actual gameplay.
In short, the lack of rotation is used to make you NEED a backpack for some items, and to keep players from tedious, OCD levels of inventory management.

Backpacks are made for carrying bulk.
which would still be needed.
and it would only force people to play 'tetris' if they wanted to not everyone would obsess over maximising their space.
Backpacks are also there to assist in reducing weight for traders so they can make move faster without being as loaded down.

Inventory rotiation would defeat the purpose of the current inventory system, so no. just get a big backpack if you need to hold big items, the medium theives backpack gives only a small penalty and has plenty of space.

Your inventory wouldn't be bigger. its no different than wanting more room in your house. you just move things around and organize it better an you get more room without moving to a bigger home.
its not like it would be forced on people just those of us who would rather be organized an carry what we can. an reduce the number of trips.

There are good and bad points to being able to rotate inventory, it would be nice to be able to do it. But you don't need to carry every thing it makes you decide what's really worth carrying.
In the early game you want to carry it all because every cat is needed, once your established and have a base set up it becomes less important you craft what has a good value that fits best in your backpack and go to the shops and sell what you can buying what you need to give the shop keepers more cash so you can sell more stuff to them, with the net result you have all there cash and useful items, you soon end up thinking if its not worth 1000 cats or more when sold I don't want to carry it.
If it was implemented I would make full use of it but none of the old games that I played did it only some of the newer ones, so I can cope with not having it. The coding for it would be simple enough but having a single orientation for items makes the automated process like sorting/arranging backpacks much simpler. They could implement it and leave sorting to single orientation but why bother, this game feels right having it like it is, I would prefer they keep working on the stuff they are, but it they like an idea here they should use it.
