Rainy again, just raising question to a good idea to allow players to interact more with the tools we have available.

So my idea is Sustained or Permanent damage-ish :P Its similar to stun damage but anyway, everytime any of your MED parts take damage, you gain either 1-2 Permanent damage. This means that you cannot first aid that 1-2 damage and will only allow it to heal up to 98 for example. This little damage debuff is repaired by sleeping, it just gives more use to beds and forces players to stop by beds every now and then to fully heal :)

Just helping make the game better, Rainy.

An interesting concept. Currently beds heal 5 times faster than no beds.

BUT:

I like the direction you are thinking. By looking at the skill descriptions in the 'Stats' menu in-game I can see that first aid is supposed to stop minor things but bigger things will "require a visit to a doctor". I think Chris has already designed things to work in the direction you have suggested but has yet to implement it yet. Some sort of doctor in towns for grievous injuries and/or a doctor skill at some later date.

Im also expecting sleep/hunger requirements based on the presence of food and (though they already have the use of healing) beds. Thats in terms of interacting more with the tools we have.

I think there already was some sort of permanent damage system if I got your point the right way.

The grey damage in health system didn't used to recover by itself, you had to go sleeping. But in some update it changed and it started to recover by itself. Or am I horribly wrong? ;) Correct me if u can. 8-)

:? Dunno why it was changed...

Resurrecting this thread as it is the only one pertaining to this topic.

+1 to permanent/sustained damage from battle
+1 to NPC doctors

Perhaps this would be best considered whenever survival aspects are implemented.
This topic could represent things that can't be mended with medkits, splints, and beds (i.e. broken ribs, hematomas, or almost anything relating to the spine).
The amount of damage sustained in battle could have a "permanent" effect on the deterioration of hunger/thirst levels as well.

Stun (gray) damage is already implemented.

Grey damage is stun damage, it simply doesnt need to be bandaged but does recover on its own. I dont recall there ever being a patch where it didnt recover itself. it does recover quite slowly though.

Did you notice that post was from almost a year and a half ago? xD
I think there is a post in Bug Reports about stun damage not recovering faster than patched damage.
