When you hover over a shopkeeper's armor or weapon, it should show the corresponding item stats that your selected character has equipped right beside the shopkeeper's. This feature would allow players to more quickly compare item stats.

Another useful feature would be to have an outline on all of the item icons, just like the null "x" item icon. My reason for suggesting this is that some items seem like they take up an extra few blocks, more than needed. Sometimes I'll try reorganizing items and they will switch places with another item instead of being set down in a new location in my backpack, because it isn't wholly clear how much space some items take up until after they're picked up.

A button to sort your messy inventory, perhaps, if there's room, sending duplicate items from your inventory to a single stack in your backpack.

Edit: The below has been answered.

The ability to pick up an entire stack of items would also be useful, instead of having to transfer them one by one.

Also, I have a question. Can medical supplies placed in backpacks be used, or must they be in the inventory?

actually you can move the whole stack, just shift + click.

And you need to have the medic kits in your inventory i think.

Inside inventory in my opinion. But it should be relatively easy to try out yourself, don't you think? ;)

I had tried it out, but I wasn't sure if it just wasn't working or wasn't possible.

Resurrecting this thread as it has the most relevant topic title (even though sorting is already implemented)

+1 for quickly comparing items in other chars' inventories (looting bodies, shopkeepers, looting fellow squad members) to items equipped by currently selected char.

I'm not giving a vote to outlining items, as their visual representations will just be optimized, improved, or otherwise awesome-ified further down the road.
