The game in its current state is fun and as many have said, full of potential.

My suggestion is to add a compass feature. Currently it can be a bit confusing which direction you are moving in until you move the X on the map. Sometimes features help, but there are areas where they do not.

Either requiring the purchase of a compass or just having one in the GUI would be very helpful for traveling.

I whole heartedly agree with this.

I agree as well, something as simple as a key to point the camera North would work, but a proper compass would be better. I have found a trick for determining your heading. The X on the map is your camera, not your party. If you zoom out, pull up the map, and move the camera forward you will see the X move in the direction your facing, you can do this with the game paused as well.

I would be happy with the ability to turn the camera skyward, and use the position of the sun and stars to navigate. easy enough to learn, and really adds to immersion.

I've opened the mini-map and held w, a, s, or d and used the direction in which the x moves to gauge my approximate heading. But the other day I noticed something interesting while using this method. If north is represented by the top of the map, then the sun and stars rise in the west and set in the east. So, either the map is a reverse map where up is south, the world of Kenshi does indeed have a sun that rises in the west, or something else entirely that I've failed to take into account. Probably never would have noticed it if I wasn't a game star-gazer.

Edit: Whoops, I didn't see Jake_i_a's previous comment on using this same method to determine your heading.

I would also like a compass, or a button which orientates the screen so north is to the top.
