[0.71.1x64] Character Duplication Exploit

Recently noticed this, and describing it the best I can.

After a game crash, I went up and started the game, which was quick-saved prior to crash. After loading and doing what things prior to crash, something in the picture is not right. I somehow found an exact duplicate of my squad that I removed after reassigning units to downsize, right down to the name, stats, and equipment. I could not screenshot it as it crashed before I could do so. The crash dump is irrelevant to the issue at hand, so I have done my experiment.

Using a different save from a one-character squad import, I formed a new squad and assigned that character there without deleting the old one. Saved in an autosave file, then loaded. Results it one character from the old squad and another from the new squad; both exact replicas.

Formed third squad and moved both to the new and saved on same spot. Loaded and found a total of 4 exact characters (1+1+2). Same procedure with 4 people moved to another new squad, results in 8 (1+1+2+4).

Can others with possibly OP solo characters do the same with this procedure? (Just a suggestion to prove my point.)

Update: done until 64 people are present, made into 3 squads of 20, and dismissed 4, which then sides to Fisher.

I have performed this, also it had nothing to do with crashes, it seems.

Split up one member into a second squad Nameless_2 to send on a sprint to a different town (in 0.70, before the loading area crash was fixed, and that was a nightmare, huehue). Since then I've updated to 0.71, and a few saves later I managed to bring the rest of my group in Nameless_1 from Catun back to "base" in Port South. ( the inflation of armors with no Grade mark on then have since brought these items from a mere dozen Cats to tens of thousands, lucky me ) Upon their return I moved my lone runner from Nameless_2 back to Nameless_1 via a simple drag-and-drop from the squads list. All pre-made squads (Nameless_1 through 11) still exist. a couple saves and messing around town a bit later, called it for the night.

Upon reloading the next day, turns out my lone runner still exists in Nameless_2, as well as the "new and improved" version of her as if no crazy exploit-y magics had occurred. The levels and inventory on the "old" character were just as she was before moving to the main squad, and the "new" character is entirely unaffected by this.

One thing I can recall to add is that I moved her back to Nameless_1, did saves and loads while she was there, and no clones were made then. Perhaps restarting my computer/steam etc. caused it?

Yea, this is kinda serious, and my weak will can only prevent me from exploiting this for riches and extra crew for so long! haha.

EDIT: Upon finding myself with two Kihakus, I moved the "old clone" back into the squad Nameless_1, and saved. Reloading that save grants me a third Kihaku. Essentially I can have ad infinitum Kihakus with next to no gear with where I am at in this exploit process.
