Re: Is there hope for Online, Multiplayer, Co-Op, Lan mod?
Unless you're playing a single-player game or a game where all of your characters are either automated or on-screen, it gets really tedious bouncing between the individual squads and keeping track of what they're all doing. It'd be a godsend if Kenshi 2'd have multiplayer so you could play alongside...

[Kenshi 2] Radiant AI and emergent storytelling
The other night I went on a tangent about the potential for emergent storytelling in Kenshi 2 with a viewer and he suggested I pitch the suggestion to the devs, so here I am. It can be found in the first 10 minutes of this highlight . It's kind of rambly, so I'll do my best to summarize in text form...

Re: Make Sleep a Necessity
That's an okay idea, it's just that sleeping takes up time and just having an assigned bed wouldn't. We're already incentivized to make beds so that we can heal, so adding bonuses to having assigned beds wouldn't really do that much.

Re: Make Sleep a Necessity
I hope so. Guess I could give her the benefit of the doubt. Wasn't about to just sit there while somebody talked to BookKeeper that way, though. I was pretty annoyed when somebody seemed to be overlooking what he did right after I shined light on it.

Re: Make Sleep a Necessity
Thanks for not even acknowledging the wrong done to BookKeeper by Grimmrok. I wasn't about to just sit here while that happened. I didn't insult him, I told him to get over himself because he needs to. BookKeeper's response didn't have "little value," it was pretty well-thought out. It's n...

Re: Make Sleep a Necessity
As it has been mentioned again and again: It's not tedious, it's immersive. There are ways to make sleep necessary without making it tedious. Even if it were tedious, the immersive nature of it would make up for it. Adding sleep to the game wouldn't automatically make the game a sim management game....

Re: Make Sleep a Necessity
This isn't a simulator, but it is hardcore. Sleep necessity is hardcore, but not necessarily simulation.

Re: Make Sleep a Necessity
Ark isn't even micromanagement, just preparation for leaving on a supply run etc. Grabbing ammo, maybe a canteen, and maybe some food if it's gonna be a long expedition is fulfilling because it feels more like it would in real life. Even more so when the player gets thirsty, thirsty, or burns throug...

Re: Make Sleep a Necessity
Pretending it's a thing is vastly different from it actually being a thing, so that's irrelevant.

Re: Make Sleep a Necessity
Hunger's not micromanaging at all. Just gotta make sure at least someone in the party has food and everyone can eat. The same would go for water. As for sleep, systems can be implemented to make sure it doesn't become a chore. Warband of 50 people? Toggle "Sleep Mode" on and they'll make c...

Re: Make Sleep a Necessity
Yeah, the fact that NPCs sleep and the player character doesn't need to is another immersion-breaker. Because the world reacts to nighttime it would support more playstyles. Example, making a thief character that sleeps during the day and spends his waking life stealing.

Re: "Bandit Demands" should happen to NPC locations too
It'd also be cool if there were nighttime bandit raids on towns on rare occasion. Starting out, the player would see these spectacles that they're not even close to powerful enough to participate in. Imagine the satisfaction that would come with participating in one of those for the first time and m...

Re: Hold Alt to Highlight NPCs and Corpses
NPC's make no sense include in the game, NPCs are about as hard to see as corpses, so it makes a ton of sense to make them more obvious. The only thing that makes NPCs more visible is when they move, but by then it can be too late. Actually I think this will be handled with the blood update coming ...

Not "end game" content, just things you can't do until you're very powerful.

Re: "Bandit Demands" should happen to NPC locations too
[Things] That'd be pretty cool. It'd definitely post pone running out of stuff to do in a realistic way. I don't know about the "Join me or die" sentiment as it's pretty petty. Then again, The Holy Empire seems extremely petty so that faction in particular would definitely do something li...

Re: Make Sleep a Necessity
I will compare this game to RimWorld because it's a very good comparison. As a matter of fact, I'd liken Kenshi to RimWorld even more than I'd liken it to Mount and Blade: Warband.

Re: Incentivize Walking Over Running
The fast forward feature isn't that powerful, it already take a good bit of time for characters to move between towns. If they were walking it wouldn't make that much of a difference. Plus it's currently way too easy to level athletics, this would be a good way to balance that out.

Re: "Bandit Demands" should happen to NPC locations too
Yeah, I'm eventually going to be powerful enough to be a group of drifters that bring death to the bandits of the world. When I eventually get to that point it'd be great if I had farms to protect from random events like that. I just hope it doesn't give me map pings for each one because that would ...
