Exact same thing happening to me!
Verifying finds 4 files need to be redownloaded ---> still same crash!
Uninstalled then reinstalled --> still same crash!
Downloading - Nvidia 397.31 video driver now --- hope that fixes it!

Crash upon launch!
Crashed right after clicked Kenshi name in Steam app list!
