Re: Archery training Exploit

Weighing in, I think the XP should be delivered upon execution of an attack regardless of the success or failure. Simply aiming should not be enough. I'm pretty sure it works like this for the rest of combat XP. You still get XP if you fail in a lot of cases, and that matches actual learning where ...

walk thru/under base walls

Depending on the lay of the land you can be allowed to place walls, but the walls will not be "solid" in some way. Leaving an AI pathable gap you can't see between wall segments, or from the correct angle only, a visible gap between the wall and the ground. In both cases a base wall and ga...

Re: Archery training Exploit

now fixed you not longer get exp for just aiming. Wow. just say'n i find all games are whatever it is they want to be. but on this one i'd point out we simply trade one kind of fakery for another form of equally fake fakery. fake one: get as good at aiming, hit or miss makes no difference. fake two...

Re: Archery training Exploit

... Full Frontal Yeti, please read the posts of the discussion again, your last post does not address anything from my post in any meaningful way, not even the part you quoted from it. You seem to be rather focused on what a player chooses to do when I told you that the game does not require our ch...

Re: A question

Based on the system specs i can look up, i doubt there is much you can do besides just turning all the game's video settings down or off as much as you can. The CPU you list is a Q4'2013 chip. Fairly aged at this time, particularly where on board video power is concerned. I note your system specs la...

Re: trying to understand some mechanics

The size of the bandit parties doesn't scale with you, but the area you are in is right on the border of the low number groups and the high number groups. The larger number of hungry bands patrols are generally north and east of you. It could be that you killed off enough of the Dustys and thus the...

Design question

I want to understand what was the influence to design this game with no 'execute/assassinate' option? Up to a point I have been just rolling with it as is. I'm pretty well ready to just accept whatever as is and roll with it, but i hit a wall the other day and can't stop going ???? over this design ...

Re: Archery training Exploit

Please don't defend bad game design by pretending it is us who choose to break the system/game. Game designs are 100% normal to be ones that can't force/prevent all actions they do not intend to be part of the game play. It is normal. Chess is a game. There is no mechanical rule that prevents any p...

Re: Stone golem cant be shot at

I got a guess on this one. have you tried right clicking on her and selecting "shoot at" to directly command a turret unit to do so? I have noticed an odd "is/is not aggressive" detection mechanic for turret units.Whenever an event is happening, the units will not agro on the eve...

"Follow" is a suggestion not a rule.

And yeah i find that to be a bug. If i say to a single toon, move here. there is very little in the game engine that will allow this toon to not fulfill the movement order it was given. However when a unit is told to "follow" another unit. That winds up being a suggestion the toon is seemi...

Re: Low Volume!

I do think this is more or less 'working as expected.' Sounds are generated at the sound source (like the foot falls of walking sounds originate at the character's feet) and so are relative to the camera position. Zoom way in on walking people and you can hear quite well their foot falls. And know f...

trying to understand some mechanics

Is the game engine scaling baddies relative to anything about the player, time or events in world? Or is it strictly regional map locations determining the level of local baddies? here is my situation that has me ??? on this aspect of the engine functions. got a stable base going near the settled no...

Re: Every single problem I've run into that I think is worth noting

The game has been in development for 15 years or so, you know that's a bad sign for game development right? Actually that would just be an assumption. Rationally speaking, number of labor hours it will take to produce / number of labor hours available per year = number of calendar years this is goi...

Re: Archery training Exploit

I think it is an interesting find for show on how the engine works xp gains. But I'd point out that a system we can choose to break is not the same thing as a broken system. As a solo player game we are free to "exploit" whatever we find (break our own toys) or choose higher levels of chal...

Re: The problem of alignment of walls and buildings

As dragon has said walls and buildings can't actually be connected by players. Even though we can see that in NPC cities. Walls can only connect directly to walls using the player base building tool. However i have found that if the land and building and wall placement are all 'just right." The...

Re: Every single problem I've run into that I think is worth noting

kinda hard to stop any and all forms of cheesing the game. it's up to the player to not abuse what is not possible to be changed. Would it really be that hard to simply put some light sources in ashlands to stop the player from just sneaking around and grabbing everything? I'm 100% sure this could ...

Re: Power Cores: What exactly are they?

It's just old junk that some fools pay a lot for but nonoe's ever found anything useful to do with. Not even sure why they call them power cores, sense no one has ever used one to power anything. Some fools like to imagine these are Skeleton parts, equivalent to some of our own internal organs. But ...

Re: See who is assigned to what machine or task

Perhaps if a listing of who is working what is a bit much. maybe then just an indicator of some kind that lets us know, no one is assigned to work it. As an example: Sometimes when i have many plots of farming close to each other, it can get harder to be sure i've got all of them being worked. An in...

Re: [Request]Bury Dead Members

yeah I'd be good for a basic base fluff item/s to build. Don't think i need a full on burial animation or anything too detailed. A small variety of grave stones and/or small statue/monuments kinda things to build. A group would look like a grave yard, or we could place single "monument/statue&q...

Re: Tips for Base Building and when to start building

My own FYI on this for anyone that comes along: There is no rush to build a base, do not hurry to it like it HAS TO BE DONE ASAP. You can find a town that has copper near enough by and a decent enough price on electronic components ( or some other low tier crafted item). Then just do research, keep ...
