Re: Charge attacks and defensive stances
A charge bonus would be cool to see later on down the road, when battles get larger, especially if anything resembling a mount/vehicle system ever gets put in. There is a defensive stance, yes, but it could be a bit different in response to a charge, like if you put up a spear wall or something like...

Re: Capital city and energy allocation
Sounds like two different topics to me. For the first one, I'm with you. Establishing capitals and whatnot, and being able to change them if you want. But it seems only natural that this will happen. For the second. I agree with having characters that get fatigued after awhile with all that running,...

Re: Zones to determine functions for areas
Eh, yeah, I almost didn't put it, but I felt like I had momentum so I went ahead. Still though, it would sorta bug me if there was a "village hideout" sign.Kind of a moot point in a single player game.

Re: Zones to determine functions for areas
True. Seems less flexible to me though. No outdoor zones (like pastures for animals or something), and no customizable functions. Works fine for shops, but I wonder if it'll work for a lot of other things. I think both the sign system and the zones could easily coexist though, since the signs are a ...

Zones to determine functions for areas
This is just a practical issue. They do this in Dwarf Fortress: You basically dig out/build a room, and if you want to make it, say, a hospital or a town meeting area or a stable for your animals, you designate that area as the proper zone. If this was done in Kenshi, it would make it so you wouldn'...

Re: Cartels, Collusion, Trusts, and Antitrusts
Love this idea! I hope Kenshi can be the kind of game where this sort of thing happens accidentally. Like, if you were the CEO, there wouldn't be an "appeal to [blank] corp to form a cartel on iron ore" button, but rather, you could sort of make it happen gradually and subtly. I have a sli...

Sounds like you'd end up with a sort of pawn shop/old world town goods store. I dig it.

Re: Some people you can control, some you can't
I don't see what you mean, you control everyone because they're part of your group. That's basically it. And Marcuss do you just add everything to your list? lol Yeah, but I think there needs to be a distinction between an inner circle and your hirelings. Right now, these mercenary-type characters ...

I like to think that we're trading real cats. Someone should make a mod where you actually have cats following you around, and when you pass someone with a lot of cats, you steal them, and that person gets sad cause he's not rich anymore and his cats are gone.

I'd like for the whole thing to be done by tomorrow. The whole game--tomorrow. Can you do that?

Some people you can control, some you can't
Quoting myself from another thread... Though, here's another thing (and it may just be an alpha thing), faction and personal accounts. If everyone is sharing the same money and equipment and general belongings, isn't that a bit cult-like? At best, it's an extremely eclectic form of society you're im...

You have a good eye for composition. Tasteful use of perspective too. You use some extreme angles, but nothing over the top. Question, did you use photoshop at all to warm up your color scheme? I'm not trying to poke holes in your photographer cred, just wondering. I'm no old-school purist, I totall...

Re: Gold need space in inventory
I believe we have very realistic system at the moment. Faction has account in a bank and it keeps all money in there. Every squad member has debit card and uses money straight from factions account. Debit cards don't weight much. But there isn't a bank and the money doesn't actually exist anywhere....

So, I usually live in the past or follow the weird little indie projects when it comes to my involvement in the gaming world, so I'm out of the loop a lot of the time. So I kept hearing so many of you guys going on and on about some medieval game called Mouse and Blame (or something like that). I th...

Nah, I was just wondering. I don't think I'd have any useful skills for him, unless he wanted a writer. But then, EVERYONE claims to be a writer, don't they? I'd just like to see this thing pick up a little momentum is all.If you want to volunteer, prepare a portfolio and send it to him.

Any plans for a development team?
Just curious. I know some folks hate the idea of anyone else ever touching the game's innards, but I was wondering if Chris had any plans to head up a development team in the future, other than the artist he now has. Seems like he might need to if he wants to get such an ambitious game out into the ...
