Thank you for your reply. I followed the instructions from your helpful guide but still no dice. I've waisted as much time as I'm willing on this game and now I'm done.

This happens no matter what I try. I've have: * restarted my computer, * turned down all my video settings to minimum * used steam to verify my files * uninstalled and reinstalled kenshi * gone into \data\newland\land\overlaymaps\ and deleted all the files named new_overlay.x.x.png. Then re-validate...
