Posting as a new player it feels weird having people all over the desert. Makes it not feel much like a desert and takes away some of the immersion.
I haven't played the game enough though so I'll more than likely have a different opinion after playing the game some more.

At the very least add water as a survival element. Most if not all settlements could have water wells where you can easily get water from. Also you start off with some sort of water pouch that you fill water with that lasts you for days and autodepletes itself and fills your thirst bar. Traders coul...
