Re: 0.59.1 Medic
Agreed. I've seen a case where a medic healed everyone but himself. In another instance, I've seen it where the medic healed everyone, including himself, except for the one incapacitated guy 15 feet from him.

Re: [0.59.1] Portrait bugs
+1
I've seen the first issue fix itself, at times. I've experienced the second issue once, and it fixed itself upon reload. Of note, when I recruited a female named Leaf, I changed her name to avoid my own confusion, but the male Leaf's (longtime associate) portrait still changed.

Re: Steel bars strorage
I'm not sure about an upwards tweak. On the supply side, I've got the automated iron mine, steel refinery III with someone keeping it fed. On the demand side, I've got a guy (50-something armorsmithing) constantly working the plate-beating station, one person (67 weaponsmithing) working the weaponsm...

Re: A question on the freedom group
I remember way back when you could only start as the Wanderer. My first short term goals were to earn enough money to hire some recruits and buy some building materials. Usually, by the time I've satisfied those goals, my #1 is a decent fighter. The way I see it, Freedom Seekers just skips past thos...

Re: Characters running back to job
I agree with OP on two specific situations. Scenario 1: I'm recovering from a bandit raid at my primary base. Lo and behold there's a bounty among the dying. I select a healthy squaddie to pick him up and direct him to go up the hill to the nearby town. It'll take him a while. I go about business on...

Re: Best location for a town?
I agree with hbrown: Between Brink and Trader's Edge. I call it Trader's Brink. - There's trader traffic between the two - You can turn in any bounties to Brink However, I did just start a new base in the middle of the valley south of Trader's Edge. I figure with 5 towns around it, trade has to be g...

Dismantling Action Refunds Building Materials
I didn't see much of this idea, let alone fleshed out. As of 0.50, I don't have any incentive to dismantle my past bases. When I choose to relocate, I produce a lot of building materials and leave with the knowledge that the old base will stay intact and safe, even with no walls. If dismantling stru...

Re: Identification Based on Distance
Bravo, Benji. Bravo. Your idea goes right along with the concept that the player is not special. If I'm not special, then why can I see the health, faction and skills/stats of everyone within a mile of me, but those Dust Bandits a quarter mile out with clear line of sight to me don't seem to care th...

Re: Building Degradation
True, the game is played in 24-hour days, but more can happen in this game's 24 hours than in a real 24 hours, so I think rust/minor upkeep could happen. For instance, you can get beat within an inch of your life, bandaged and put in bed and fully recovered, blood and limbs and all, all within a wor...

Re: Strength is too easy to train!
Disposable bag  ! Gross! How about if STR slowly goes back down while you're not carrying heavy loads? Gotta work to stay in shape! Along with this, I'd also like to see mining used as a strength generator. Surely, laboring in a stone/iron mine builds muscle. This way, your musclebound ax man c...

Re: Have more microkeys for your guys?
I like the previous/next button idea, but I'd also like to see a quick keyboard solution to reach out to each of your dozens of squaddies. How about using the keypad to quickly enter their number? For instance, if you want to reach the eleventh person in your squad, quickly press 1 1 on the keypad. ...

Re: I'VE BEEN ROBBED!
I like the idea that bandits will take what is reasonable for THEM to take. Factors could be their carrying capacity, their current gear, and their skills and stats. If a bandit had a wakizashi and STR 2, he's unlikely to take your fragment axe that he can't put in his inventory. Yes, if you fail at...

Re: Show health for party members?
Sweet story. Creepy, but mostly sweet. A quick reference health gauge would be handy. The portraits could double as a sort of health bar that fill up with a transparent red bar as damage is taken. The percentage of red coverage would reflect the condition of the worst damaged area among head, ...

Re: Realistic Fog of War
I know what you mean by fog of war. It's common in strategy games. In a way, it's already implemented. You can only move the camera within a certain radius of one of your squad members. In effect, you can only "see" things that are near one of your people. Still, I believe you mean a more ...

Re: Micromanagement and Squads and other stuff
If loyalty is implemented, then I like the idea that squad members could get to the level and length of loyalty that they will not leave. They are actual friends rather than just contract workers. The unimplemented Charisma stat could play into the length of time it takes for contractors to become l...

I agree with MrSpike. Use the current weapon and armor racks. Switch them to public so that traders will know they can buy from them. And sell to them?

Re: Campsites- dynamic raid areas
Heavy_Gear_Mechanic, I am also waiting for building material refunds on dismantled objects. Camp-type objects (tents, sleeping bags) could have 100% refund, but they won't work as efficiently as a real bed. If they did, why would anyone take the time and resources to make a bunk house in their perma...

Re: Banks
Loans and interest aside, I like the idea of banks. Although a painful thought, I'm looking forward to the day when the bandits who beat you down in the desert loot you for most/all of your valuables and cash, so the bank would be a good place to store some of your wealth. I also like the idea of ge...
