Alpha Bundle
So now IndieRoyale's first Alpha Bundle is launched, and I was just wondering why Kenshi isn't in it? IIRC Chris was talking about arranging it so that he'd end up in an alpha bundle.
Re: Wiki?
In all fairness, very few games are as complicated as DF without intentionally trying to be.

Re: New to Kenshi
I like to support indie games and their development and Kenshi is currently at the top of my list Good. Before I purchase, I'd want to know how far the game is to a finished state Early alpha. There has been no mentionable content/feature update to the game since the first public alpha release, all...

Spread the word!
Now we all know games don't run on farts and giggles, and even the best game can't get by on merit and features alone. Maybe you thought Minecraft sold several million copies because it was such a great game? Wrong. I bought the game when Minecraft still only had a 20-30k sales, and I noticed that s...

Re: What do you want next?
Sounds like Chris has it all planned out, should probably just have put different kinds of features in as options for the poll though, since MT doesn't really fit as an option at this time.

Re: What do you want next?
I'm glad a lot of you decided to hop on over to multithreading, because lets face it: The game is in early alpha, the version we are playing as of today is pretty much a very stable tech demo of the engine. Compared to how much content and how many features that could be put in this game, we really ...

Re: What do you want next?
All of it needs to be done, and I don't really care in what order. Although if you do the hard stuff first the rest will feel like a breeze =)

Re: So I heard this game was gonna have blood..
On irrationality: Looking at the definitions for rational, it can be used as a synonym to both reasonable AND logical . I would say whether or not something is reasonable depends on the circumstances at hand, and considering phobias are fairly common (according to wikipedia 8.7-18.1% in the US) I wo...

Re: A co-op mode?
Sure, things will start jumping around if there's lag, but over a LAN network lag shouldn't be a problem. With an AI intensive game, just the parsing of information between host machine and clients could present a challenge. I'm also thinking that the extra players will cause extra processing to be...
Re: Severing?
I think if you're stupid enough to get your arm cut off, you'll have to deal with the consequences. 1. Arm is severed. You're bleeding badly, aaagh!? 2. You stop the bleeding yourself, or one of your medics do, or you pay a doctor to do it. 3. After the bleeding is stopped, you can pay a doctor to f...
Re: Severing?
Alright 1337, seems you know what you're talking about
On another note, I guess Chris should update the FAQ.

Re: Build?
Earliest possible would be in exactly two months, but probably give it a few weeks before he puts it in, if he doesn't decide to work on something else before construction. So nothing big will be added in the next month or 2

Re: A co-op mode?
Designing the multiplayer synchronization and netcode for this game when it's done is gonna be hell, it's something nobody should have to go through alone and the easiest way to get a lot of coders/programmers into it would probably be by doing it open source somehow. Examples such as Victoria 2 and...

Re: A co-op mode?
From experience with other games, I know that developers often have trouble optimizing multiplayer when advanced AI is put into the equation. I'd rather see Chris expand the possibilities for the game by developing the AI and modable backbone for the game. But of course ideally he would make it poss...
Re: Severing?
right now chris is purging the game of bugs maybe it will be implemented in a few (weeks) months Are robotic limbs actually a planned feature? I almost remember hearing about that somewhere, but I can't remember where. That would definitely be a damn cool feature though. yes they are a planned feat...

Re: Personal Relations
Synyster, Dwarf Fortress does have INCREDIBLE individual depth for the dwarves, but I would say that the sociological department is a bit lacking. I mean people get pissed when their friends die but that's really the only phenomena I can think of. But Dwarf Fortress pretty much proves that the proce...

Re: Personal Relations
The questions you are raising are mainly sociological Varg, and they are quite interesting to ponder upon indeed. I believe that maybe in 20 years when we have processors that are 10-100 times as good as they are today, implementing psychological and sociological depth into AI will be more than viab...

Re: Modding requests
As I understand it, mostly what you can mod in so far is content (of course if you want to try scripting then knock yourself out), I picked something else because I'd rather just see a constantly growing content / variety mod, that would overall improve the gameplay of the original Kenshi (Like Nati...
