For steam should i be using the big long key or short key? Neither work bare in mind

Yes both the short code and the long code, So many times steam has blocked me from trying until a period of time

Just bought game key not valid with Steam?
Hi I just bought the game, I have tried to play via the download option the Kenshi website however it keeps crashing i thought it would be worth while to try steam as I get a steam key with it "Don't lose your key code! Load up kenshi and enter your key like this (copy and paste it): 000000-000...
