Re: Hardships, and taking advantage.

What you point out "bothers" me, too (well, "bothers" is probably too much of a strong word...). But it's just a "flaw" caused by the game being far from finished, really. I found also unrealistic that someone would chop down a foe and then let you loot their prize whil...

Re: Since there are Robot parts...

Didn't Chris say he thought about cybernetics, but wasn't sure how to do it without punching logic in the face?

...not saying he will put it in the final game, just that he was toying with the idea.

Re: An unexpected chain of events.

Except NPC's don't care about loot. A "claim" system works in an mmo, sure. But in Kenshi? Nah. That's exactly my point: they should care about it. Why discard all the loot? It doesn't make any sense. It could when they are marching through the desert (you may think they don't want to be ...

Re: Slavery?

Wow, this is a really interesting point. Really great. Samurai would be a good example of this. I suspect that their avoidance of menial work resulted more from a caste society and social norms, than life expectancy. Or... maybe they are just weighing social forces against a decreased value of life...

Re: Slavery?

Only reasoning in present-day terms, though: in other cultures/times, a free man would rather die fighting than live doing menial labor. It's a sad truth that life has gained some inherent value only when life expectancy has soared high. When people expect to die early anyway from disease or somethi...

Re: An unexpected chain of events.

I laughed out pretty loud at some points of that story, thank you Corain! :D Didn't even know it was possible to push factions to attack each other; could be quite funny, though I guess you'll eventually have to start a new game after things go out of controll... By the way, I think there should be ...

Re: Slavery?

Gameplay wise, there should never be a right or wrong way to play the game: a sandbox game is all about freedom of choice. As noted above, selling slaves or putting them to work is no doubt going to be quite profitable. So, the point is finding something to reward the player that decide to discard t...

...or we could just hire new guys and sent them to rescue the prisoners, maybe.

Re: Martial Arts skill. Sword vs hand?

i don't think i have seen a movie or game where there is a huge karate fight, that sounds like the funiest thing though  (don't ask me why "Big Trouble in Little China", especially the battle between the "Chang Sing" and the "Wing Kong" in the first few minutes. ;)

Re: Whats better?

^ Could be interesting, but it could also add a boring lot of micromanagement.

It's all in how it would be implemented, really.

Re: Random food lying around

Same, found 2 boxes of food just lying in the desert sand. Somewhere north of Brink, I think.

Dropped by some travelling merchant killed by bandits? Don't know, I've never seen killed NPCs dropping anything before...

Re: What do you want next?

Voted for "buying buildings, crafting, research". That would make the game more interesting and less repetitive in the long run, which would also increase its appeal for potential buyers. Also, this is the kind of feature that needs quite a bit of testing to be tuned, especially if NPCs st...

Re: New members say "Hi"

Just bought the game. A pleasure helping such a promising project, I wish best luck to the developer with all my heart! Just a few moments that impressed me when trying it out: - The big battles between rival bands of desert bandits and between bandit bands and faction patrols. - Starting out pennyl...
