Question about melee weapons

My question raises from the Kenshi logo -- it looks like a figure about to stab somebody with a spear, which raises a question. What sort of melee weapons can we expect to see in the future?

I know that we have a few different types of swords right now (Heavy, Katana, Sabre, and Hacker), but will we see the rise of any melee weapons other than swords? I know that Blunt weapons seem to be planned for the future, so we might see hammers/maces of some sort. But, will we ever see spears? Spears would be interesting, especially if it allows your character to engage an enemy from further away. Imagine a group of characters bunched together with spears to form a wall of spears, preventing opponents from getting close enough to use swords. That would be cool.

So, my main question is, what other swords of melee weapons will we be seeing?
- Hammer/Maces?
- Spears & Polearms?
- Staffs (maybe for martial arts?)
- Short swords or Daggers? (Probably not as a primary weapon. Maybe on a fast character, you can chain together many, many attacks?)


If fishing is ever implemented, can we kill people with a fish?
