I am new to these sandbox games, but am familiar with RTS/RPG elements. Here is my immediate opinions having spent way too much time on this game since getting it a few days ago.
I love the relatively lowtech/gunpowder free environment.
The large world is wonderful I hope that it grows, tremendously. It would be fantastic to have borders that are caused by your inability to continue to explore, in-spite of the option.
building elements are rad. That first small shack is such a sacrifice to get. It makes you proud to have one.
Please keep this game difficult. Easy games are not interesting to replay, have nothing to learn, and are forgotten about.
"you are not the chosen one" - this is the reason you have my money. I'm tired of inane superman BS.
I want some walls! I know they're coming, and I'm thrilled to wait and experience the progress that's made.
in short, aside from the alpha status the game is super cool. I am not formally requesting this here, but is multiplayer even on the table? I know that can significantly change the mechanics of a game, but just wondering what dialogue exists on this already.
Do you have a composer/ sound engineer lined up already? I dabble in audio production, enough to be acquainted with people that intend to make it a career, and would be into an ambitious project that could build resumes. They are studious people, attending universities for said skills, so I'm talking beyond your average fruityloops/garageband type.
anyways, great job so far, I regret I am unequipped to offer useful assistance in any other capacity.
Also, on the 25% programming/1% art, the game looks great. If you keep that ratio, you will have plenty of satisfied customers. Please dont ever get lost in the beautification.
Thanks for the game!

Welcome to the Kenshi community.
We'll get walls soon enough, shortly after metal ore mining and weapons crafting are implemented. They're requiring something of an AI redesign to minimize issues stemming from them as I understand it. As Smiley said, the game would require a complete redesign in order to have multiplayer functionality, although the mod community should be able to share their own work, making the ability to share your own progress through a mod entirely feasible. That should add some interesting elements once faction warfare is an element. I'm not entirely sure who Chris has lined up for the audio work, but I have little doubt he has someone in mind.

thanks for the replies, yeah, I have since done some reading on the different subforums and understand the nature of multiplayer limitations, Thanks for the input, it is brilliant as it stands. I think its time I learned some modding techniques so I can start making useful content for the community.
