I think skills need to be finished, and some quests added in. The trailer made it look like I would start out a wander then build up a tight group then later I could make my own stronghold. But alas the buzz on steam forums is if you want to learn to fight you build an outpost first, then reasearch super weapons, make said weapons, trade for money but super armor. Then and only then fight bandits till your guy is as super as his gear against guys with rusty horse choppers.

Its kind of like buying max level gear at level 1 then fighting level 5s for hours till your max level. It works wonders, but I want to see requirements on weapons, for instance str, and dex, not to mention weapon skill. Same with armor, I feel kind of disconnected with my men when I go from wandering the desert not making much progress to making them worker ants for 12 hours or more so I can deck them out in matching gear. They go from being named people to simply solider 1, 2, medic 1, engineer 1 etc in my head.

As the guy above said, finish skills it shouldnt be that hard, Also, anyone feeling like helping chris like, OMG STOP SAYING ITS EASY U DONT KNO HOW HARD IT IS and such, Please just go away, It really doesent take much time, except thinking of how to implement each skill and such, I just hope those to get finished first, after that i want Turrets and random ai events, such as city raid, a mob mugging someone else, also assassination would be cool.
EDIT: I agree with zalzaney on everything he writes! Requirements would be needed to items and such, also, for the love of god, add narcotics types and adding and smuggling feature, so i can be a band of notorious drug dealers, and go in to ev ery smal town with Couriers selling drugs!

Ditto on the Skills.

I mentioned this in another topic as well. Much of this is easy to accomplish. Get them in so we can spend time further developing the characters and see how mechanics are really going to work beyond a bare bones system. It's easy and at the very least will give the warm fuzzy of a quick accomplishment for the development team.

And as for the easy naysayers. I believe the old outdated poll even says things like Endurance would BE easy. Unless I suddenly went blind and my service dog is actually typing this message.

The pole listed it as easy, not me. Read the top of the page first, isn't that a basic forum rule? Read then post? Quests I doubt will be easy, but the pole which is probably older then the time I knew this game existed states stats would be easy to implement, most people voted for the final polish one that could take months on its own though. IE the one listed as hard.

Drug dealer would be interesting. But like I said, I want my men to feel important, if I wanted to build a settlement I would have just stuck to Gnomeria, where I craft all my soldiers gear. I saw the trailer and thought oh desert squad sandbox, not oh base builder, which I am convinced a lot of people seem to prefer on steam forums.

Most of the multi threading votes are new, because when i got in here the one most votes was sleeping and etc ( which is implemented), they should remove the poll as fseems rather uneded for now and confuses people, as seen from the latest updates from Chris he got his ordering set, and i don t think he would start work on multi threading at this point with the "hanging" elements he has now to work, tho i agree with you, like i voted the other elements of the skills which are possible to implement should be done prior (if is easy as it stated be.tter).

I'd like to be able to sell things to and buy from Wandering Traders, like by bringing up a shopping window. Then you don't always have to run to a town to sell and buy things

So lock it? The moderation on these forums seam lackluster - a bunch of threads lying around with outdated info (this one and the "current features" post too). As a newcomer I`m dissapointed that the first posts I see in this forum are old as hell and I`m pretty sure I`m not the only one.

Vehicles confirmed not to be in, and such other things seem to be far from worked, looking at the roadwork at least.

I would love to see some way to automatically equip people with gear, like if your making your own weapons and armor instead of making each one do it manual, have it where you have a template that the squad members will try and equip them self with if you have that type of weapon in stock at your out post, they will also upgrade the weapons and armor as better becomes available.

Also a scroll wheel for your squad window would be nice, after you get 14 total people it becomes hard to select the rest of them individually.

Thankfully, all of these suggestions in the poll will not "make" a different game in terms of atmosphere. I would vote for the full implementation of the skills missing (ranged, robotics, mass combat etc). And please dont make the game more rpg than it is. i dont want to spend ridiculous amounts of time reading enormous dialogues and farming whatever materials to be delivered to a npc in a far away city.
