I have found that to speed up my travel time in the desert, that removing my pants helps. Furthermore, if i aggro any enemies, i simply open my inventory, pause the game, then immediately put on my pants. this removes all disadvantage from heavy armor.

Solution: Have an equip time that prevents actions while equipping items.

That's no bug. It's also pretty old news. You can do that with backpacks too and with anything heavy that would slow you down or give any disadvantage.

You should always proofread carefully to make sure you didn't any words out.

i dont think he said it was a bug, Its def an exploit though. Im not sure equip time is the best way to fix it...

maybe when ranged combat comes in this will become a bad idea, as getting shot at by arrows when trying to run away naked could hurt.

Another reason why there should be an animation for switching equipment.

Just...don't use the exploit if you think it's unfair. It's a mechanic in so many games, I don't see it as a problem at all.

what you really should be asking, is why is he streaking in the desert in the first place.

That is a way to deal with it, but exploits are targetted by devs for a reason.

what other games have that kind of thing as a "feature"?

Any games that feature equipped item encumbrance. I mean I dont see it as being a problem. It means that you took off the restrictive clothing.

I mean yeah, its just taking it off.. but that kind of heavy armor that would restrict you so much, realistically would require a squire to help you put on, like the medeival days, so its seen as odd to be able to flip it on and off like a switch. thats why its seen as an exploit at least.

I have very poor impulse control, so i cant help but to exploit the "pants" exploit. At first, i was just switching between light pants and the heavy pants in the desert, then it hit me, why wear the pants at all?

The goal of the game is realism. Hence first aid kits instead of stim packs/health potions. Thirst and hunger are supposed to be implemented if i understand it correctly. So having a "pants" exploit seems to ruin the atmosphere. While that may not seem important now, please keep in mind that he is trying something new here, and part of the cheap price we paid requires us to report the bugs and exploits, and i see the "pants" exploit as a real immersion breaker.

having an animation that shows you lifting your arms and bending over or something, or simply crouching with a time delay would be more immersive and lets exploitive if you wanted that. I dont really care about this until much later in development..

It was in the bug reports forum before I moved it here.

If i had seen this, i would have not posted this new one. That poor impulse control again. then again, its really hard to keep track of everything, as we have a lot of stuff here now.
