I have been playing for almost 200 hours, yet i can not see the difference between cutting and blunt weapons when fighting enemies. Granted, my main dude uses the Plank, and that is the best of both worlds, and i mostly fight lightly armored bandits.
So my main question is this: Do blunt weapons do more damage to armored enemies then cutting weapons, or is there something else that i am not noticing?
I also notice the stun percentage on armors. Is the lower the number better or worse? I am under the assumption that the lower the number, the lower the chance of stun from a hit, however, at 60 melee attack, defense, and weapon skill, its very hard to be hit, and combat does not last long enough to figure out what's going on.
this question become more important, because if i understand correctly, the big diplomacy update is coming, and we may be getting raided by heavy armored factions soon.
What are the advantages of blunt vs cutting weapons?
This is just my understanding but I think cutting damage causes the bleeding and blunt damage causes the black damage to health. Without splint kits as part of the game I don't know the overall difference as to what causes more damage and what heals quicker though.

black heals faster due to only be bruising.
red is physical damage, blunt force trauma and sword cuts. you are more likely to bleed out from being hit by swords then blunt weapons.
red requires bandages to heal at a decent pace, Black does not.

I have not noticed the black damage before. This explains why i have never used a splint kit.
From what i have seen, armor defends cut damage better then blunt damage. But the only enemies that seem to use blunt weapons are the starving bandits, and they are not that challenging once you get 4 to five guys in a squad.

I dont know if anyone else has noticed this...but bodies decay MUCH MUCH slower if the (then alive) unit is killed with blunt weapons.
Why yes, I just destroyed your army, burned your city to the ground, and terrorized the entire continent by myself. Tea?
