On irrationality: Looking at the definitions for rational, it can be used as a synonym to both reasonable AND logical.
I would say whether or not something is reasonable depends on the circumstances at hand, and considering phobias are fairly common (according to wikipedia 8.7-18.1% in the US) I would say that it is reasonable to suffer from one. This is assuming someone isn't using reasonable as a synonym to sane.
Obviously phobias aren't logical, I would go as far as to say that any mental illness that can't be scientifically linked (read: brain tumor or other abnormality in the brain) to a physical condition is illogical. Of course you also have to take into account that a lot of emotions and a big part of the human psyche are also illogical, which is probably why it's popular to put emotionless androids in sci-fi books and movies.
This is ALL assuming you are using scientific or constructive logic. A lot of people like to create their own logical systems in their heads and then call what they say logical, when really it has no base in popular logic.
Sorry about the enormous sideliner, back to the topic at hand.
If Chris really wanted to, he could probably sort bloody functions so that they were easy to switch on or off, but it might be a lot of extra work for him just to please a very small part of the audience. So you can see why he might rather leave it up to the audience to mod it out themselves, I'm sure we'll see no-blood mods sprouting not far after blood is initially added, or more blood is updated into the game. I guess your best option as a haemophobic is to wait the no-blood mods out, although my personal recommendation would be therapy, unless you think you can tackle your phobia on your own.
So I heard this game was gonna have blood..

Just wait and see, maybe the effects will not affect you at all. As for the therapy, we of the Kenshi forum (A bunch of strangers from around the world) really do not know the level of your phobias' intensity.(it could be a 10 or as intense as a 100 (100 would need therapy) so we can only assume in best interest.
I don't know what to say other than just wait and see

since your bumping i have to say. your like raiding the forums
. that being said a blood on/off button will likely be an option. or optional for a mod. as said before
I'm sure a blood on/off switch would just go from RED blood to RED blood with a zero alpha so it is invisible.
Obviously that is more of a graphics guy thing to play with, but from doing website art I have played with the alpha a lot and would assume it is similar.
As for turning the blood into daisys and tulips.....

If you look around the kenshi folder there are blood decals that look easily modifiable (with ms paint maybe? ). It would not stop the blood animations, but maybe you can turn the blood splatters on the ground a different color? (yellow because they pissed themselves, or green because they are tree people idk). That may be a little easier to do. (just copy the Kenshi folder before you mess with it).
