Hello,
i have recently started a game with the new experimental builds, and went out exploring, to find a nice place for a possible base.
What i noticed is, that the values seemed to be the same per biome? Like.. all in "central" it is the same, all in "desert" it is the same, and so on.
Am i correct there? Or just had the weird "luck" of finding the same values per biome on all the spots i checked?
Hope over time, this may get more diverse, so that there are hotspots within biomes, or even places where you can find a different distribution within biomes.
Is prospecting just dependant on the biome so far?

Prospecting is based both on Biome and on location.
Mountains/hills will generally hold Ore and stone.
Open valleys/flat plains will generally hold Water/Fertility.
On the other hand though it is also defined by location. Bands of iron for example have specific locations they run along, and are thus harder to attain with ease, due to general placement at high elevation altitudes.
There are several locations however that hold high amounts of all 4 resources, and are convenient to settle.
The only two I have found so far, are a long way from civilization and located near hostile cannibal territory. Specifically the foothills of the mountain range just south east of the most Eastward cannibal camp.
I might put up a Steam guide for good starting locations when the new patch is in place.
