14 in this pic against my 7 at the start aswell well basically 5 due to 2 being unconcious and the rest already wounded, which is really stupid surely they're doing something from the hunger games "May the odd's forever not be in your favour - Hunger games"

Little base i had before i got exterminated- literally, hatsune neko already spoken to you on steam about this issue, devs whats going on we've had this issue for what? like 7-8 months no, and when i thought it couldnt get any worse, you practically made this game unplayable, i cant even setup a base or even barely fend off the attackers because it is inevitable, please sort this bandit spawns, quantity etc out so i can actually play this game again, it doesnt just effect me but various other people, id rather not get lucky or be really patient that i have to wait for like 100th playthrough just to create a base

My bases always start as a small shack with a research bench, then a large ring of walls. They normally attack before I can get the walls done though...
And don't forget, losing some battles help build skills. It is not "fun" to win all of the time.

Welcome to Kenshi...?
Not even joking. there's nothing wrong with this. That is the way this game is meant to be played. If you think this is a game where you can jump right into and do everything you wish, you're sorely mistaken. You need to work towards everything, and jumping into building an outpost in the middle of a bandit ridden desert with not the ability to protect it is suicide... Just be happy that they don't loot all your stuff and destroy your structures yet

where i am mentioned he means this topic on steam still the bandit bug again
and i agree this is not a bug, just part of the game play of Kenshi.
New Player ideas of how to play Kenshi for the first time based on other games.
1. I got a sword, time to go out and attack everyone cause i'm the hero.
Kenshi Reality
1. I got a sword, runs out to go fight. wakes up several days later beaten and bloodied and barely still alive. makes mental note they are not the hero. more like cannon fodder.
as for the pictures, i had said that your attack and defence numbers are in the negatives. this is bad, you don't want negative numbers in Kenshi, its basically a death sentence.
you wont be able to really hold your own in group fights until you're around 20 in attack and defence, higher if you wear encumbering items like heavy armour or backpacks. i would say more like stats in the 30's is good time to build your base. least then you can hold your own. more or less.
these numbers go up if you solo play like i usually do. least until you understand Kenshi better. i have for one started at rock bottom, went out got materials and started building a base, my stats were bad. but i knew when to run and where to pick my fights.
that tactic will change when taking over someone elses base is added.
fight smart.
watch where you are. and what you wear and your weapons. and where you fight. keep an eye on your encomberance, if to high, they can catch you. you will really have to watch that once fatigue is added. then you can only run so far.

Do you believe the sexes should be equal?
Oh heavens no.
Then Men would become unmanageable

Heh, I'm looking at this and I'm seeing
* Recovery coma
* Minimal blood loss
* Not that much injury
And thinking you're probably going to be fine if the bandits walked off (like they usually do), just wait until someone wakes up and start patching up. I've done this a number of times with my group.
Also, once you get your first shack, it will probably contain your research bench. If you hired a medic, they'll also have the best science score, so you'll have them researching. When baddies show up, have them lock themselves in while the rest of your group tries to fight them off. I haven't had them try to get to my medic/researcher yet doing this.
Training helps, too. Before you have a base, find one of the big fort-bunker circle things in town, they usually have a training dummy or two. Especially when you get new 700cr guys, go have them whack on the training dummy while your other characters do whatever else. It's also something you can usually do while waiting for the damn shops to open up again. It is slow... and I did leave people whacking a stick on 4x speed once or twice while going off and eating. But it's better than nothing.
Oh, and a final note; any time you down an enemy anywhere near where you want to be in the future, take their weapon. Without martial arts it makes them a non-issue when they get back up again; plus it's worth money. (The heart protector armors are common and valuable too...). It's also a way to help the guards in a city full of bandits without directly provoking anyone...

Or do what I did, buy the cheapest building in one of the towns, name escapes me at the moment, it's like 1200 and it's frackin huge for a 1200 bill. It uses town energy and is large enough for the highest bench, absolutely safe from enemies, save a damned leviathan. That way you can sponge off the town and not have to worry about building power, then focus on the rest of your town.itkotw2000 wrote:My bases always start as a small shack with a research bench, then a large ring of walls. EDIT: Town is Port South, Southeast-ish of Tradersedge. It's on the lower southwest, right next to the gap in the walls where the 2 cylinder shaped shops are located. I honestly think this should be re-priced as it's bigger than a damn shack AND has access to the roof, though it's not currently working properly, and the shack is much smaller worth 6000 and only 1 floor.
There's also a decent starter house in Brink for around 1200 also (don't remember exactly how much). Not sure if it would be decent for a normal sized squad (currently doing a solo game), but it's good for getting research out of the way and you can do some crafting without even leaving the town if you buy the fabrics, steel bars, wheat, etc. from the local trader-shop.
If you must build a base right away, though, build it near enough to a town that you can send an unencumbered medic to safety when a fight breaks out. That way you get all the Toughness training and you can pick yourself back up without too much worry (just some unavoidable productivity setbacks). If you want to avoid a fight entirely, you can keep a runner around that can get their attention before they hit your base and send them into some town guards/police.

Prepare better.. buy a building in a city rather than going head-long into base building, stockpile goods, research technology in someone else's guarded place, then strike out on your own when you're well prepared. Kenshi's not a base-building simulator, it's more of a ass-whooping simulator with base-building features.

I havent read the rest of this thread, and im not going to. I will say however, that if your title has zero information about what your actually talking about, you don't deserve a response. If your title has no information, is in all caps, has a paranthetical, and has a ton of !!!!!!!!!!!s, you should probably just kill yourself right now.

that's way too harsh, don't you think?Mattk50 wrote: you should probably just kill yourself right now.
it's ok though, look at my avatar and feel your discomfort dissipate.
But then that one guy with that "Spam killer" Signature gif will come around and creep me the hell out.
On an unrelated note OP has not replied to this thread once since his initial post back in december.
Probably time to stop beating the dead horse.
