Leviathans are actually children of cthulhu.
So i started a new game for 0.70.4.
I started in Brink. I found a nest nearby of which i plucked up some eggs and ran back to town to sell and happened to find mister Twinkles. (infinate wingang) so hired.
Left town, and the entire fleet of samurai started off in one direction. Turned to look, and it was a leviathan.

I thought to myself, "ooh, this will be fun to watch, i always wondered what it was like to see one of these die!"
However, there was soemthing odd about this leviathan...
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/f ... =358048724
In like 10 seconds, the entire samurai army was wiped out, and little damage was done..
But the leviathan wasn't done. The trampling massacre continued...
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/f ... =358047732
.. All the way into town, where one person after another continued to fall.
It was at this moment that i just concluded that Leviathan was just spawn of cthulhu.
You're screwed. Get over it.

Dogs are spawning everywhere god damn it.
How to obtain holy empire armor early game.
1) Train run speed until 26 minimum
2) Attract doggy with booty
3) Run to holy empire cities
4) Let guards engage
5) ????
6) One set of shoddy heavy armor obtained!
Also you tampered with your population slider didn't you? I don't remember one town with that many guards in it.

I have one burning question that remained, will one or a pair of them outlast the turrets?

That was funny
To see an entire army of top-geared desert samurai get owned by a giraffe forgotten descedent is just too much for me...
Kenshi needs more wars, I see sometimes in Brink the Samurais gathering a giant army 20+ npcs and then just moving around the desert to wipe out one single hungry bandit platoon and return, it would be so awesome to see them travel around, destroy bandit/hannibal-wannabes camps, whilst just militias stay to defend it from thieves and outlaws

The lowlest level turrets are just to meeh and they will get to you easily enough to finish you off, I'd try to engage with melee squaddies before they find your turrets.Aereto wrote:I have one burning question that remained, will one or a pair of them outlast the turrets?
All is Dust, Prospero's burnt.

I lost about 6 of 10 guys to 1 leviathan, the other 4 were lucky to take only one hit to their head, chest or stomach that reduced them below 0. The others needed 2 hits killing them. I wasn't using any armor but using the best weapon grades. I almost reduced one of its legs to 100.

I foresaw a remark similar to this. So I recruited another 25 meatbags to punch and stuff in stupid heavy armor to stand in front of the thing.Mattk50 wrote:HahPnzrNorm wrote:Why haven't I found one of these yet
My super squad will surely make short work of the beasts
Is that what you think. RIP your squad.
... still searching for the beast.

My main guy soloed a Leviathan last night... wish I knew how to link you my steam screen-shots so you could see. Got a little picture of him posing (all beat up) next to his trophy. I was hoping for some awesome loot (like Leviathan Chitin or some such), but it doesn't seem to be searchable.

Ah, I wouldn't know - I found him strolling quite happily through the wastes. Sent my best fighter out to deal with him before he hit the base and got stomped royally for my efforts.
I'm curious as to what weapon you're currently using. If you're using a heavy weapon, that is probably your problem. I noticed your dex was lower than your other base stats, which is important for blocking. Your defense is definitely high enough to block leviathan attacks, but with a slower weapon, your dex is going to gimp your ability to do so. Soloing one may not be possible with that dex and a slow weapon. You won't get enough attacks in fast enough, and your blocking speed much lower, which means the leviathon will get more chances to hit you, and hit you more often. And when fighting leviathans... .It's all about blocking every attack they make. Dish out enough attacks before you get hit too many times, and soloing a leviathan is actually quite easy. Fighting them in groups is more difficult due to an AOE bug where only the direct target blocks. Everyone else just takes the hit (though i kinda felt like that bug was fixed in one of the latest patches... i can't confirm that 100% though..)tkobo wrote:havent managed to kill one yet,and my squad is very tough. My main guy is more than a tad powerful, and all standard armor and high end weapon....
Ive used a heavy iron club (circa 3.5 dam, model edge type 5,does about 250 to 300 pts per hit) and a nodachi (circa 2.1 dam, model edge type 4).What weapon would you suggest ?
Ive only tried about 3 or 4 times, and then it was usually a one hit tko to the head from the lev that takes me out.
I didnt know about the AOE bug, could be part of it.

K, switched to a katana (model edge type 5) and was able to kill a group of 3 levis at once.
damage per hit for temp was way down, only like 85 per hit,and the levis ended up passing out and dying due to lack of blood, but it was very doable.
Funny scene, was when i was fighting all three, and the one i was targeting, started to try and run away
So here i am,its fairly crippled and trying its best to stagger away from me,im running after it and getting the occasional hit,and two more are lumbering after me trying to hit me.
