I just got weapon smithing 14 for the first time in the new map and I saw how my weapons are selling for like 300 a piece regardless of type compared to like 7k before the update. This a bug or what happened? I saw that the description for weapon smithing says I'm making generic rubbish but it's still a lot better than the industrial model crap.

Just checked my Ind.008 Wakizashi that'd sell merely for 217 cats. Well if it's not a bug, one reason i'd give would be: our faction isn't as known as Edgewalkers, so no one cares about our stamp on a sword tail, thus pricings are somewhat low. Or maybe it's a foundation for upcoming diplomacy system, which might include bargain or price correction depending on relationship.

What do you think is wrong with industrial models though? I'm currently stuck with Ind 008, since they give +3 Attck and no penalties. Dmg is somewhat low, perhaps, but it sure does cut fogmen and dust skoom good :)

Nothing is wrong with industrial, it's just that it's usually the best quality of weapon you can find in a store and it costs and sells for more than homemade edge type weapons despite how the edge types are better by a lot.

Gotcha, forgot that ind models could be found in stores.
Well, let's see if anyone will bring a kosher answer, cuz 300 cats-a-blade sounds way too low for hi-lvl swords... meanwhile 7k sounds way too high :D

it could also be a way to bring about a more balanced way of making money sicne its already to easy to make enough to live off of.
Being able to not have to fight for money kinda ruins the survival aspect of the game if you can afford everything after a few days. so dont be surprised if a lot more tweaks to cash flow are made. sicne its still too easy to make tons of money.
Do you believe the sexes should be equal?
Oh heavens no.
Then Men would become unmanageable

This really bugs me.

Its a single player game so no money sinks are needed and if they did want to include them then there has to be a better way than this.

Right now a few loaves of bread sells for more than a Edge type 4 sword. And an armourer will eat many loaves of bread while he fashions said sword. Makes you want to murder the shop keeper and just take his money for trying to cheat the wrong person.

Well, aside from the fact that this does seem to be way too little, it being single player rather than multiplayer doesn't mean balance in gameplay should be voided... Buuuuut that's completely irrelevant, because I can sell a foodcube for twice the price of an Edge weapon, and foodcubes cost significantly less time and resources to craft.... So hopefully this is either a mistake, or it's working up to something.. Because yeah. This doesn't make much sense.

The way i see it, there not really an economy in place so i could be making millions if i wanted.
Just by producing rum... which at this point has no use in game other then trade. i got like 10-15 distileries... my gates are gaurded by 4 turrets ... so noone gets in i have enough bread to survive a 1000 year blockade :p.
Only a plague or inbreeding could kill me ;).

So yeah they have to balance the economy also u produce mastercraft swords like its mass production...
its click the best sword u can produce... click it 10 times and u get 10 of em... no skill required :p

So either they need to implement a durability to weapons or armor or keep em pretty cheap cos they last forever 1s they are made... :)

Has anyone tried swords-for-profit since the recent update that addressed pricing?
