Hello, I bought kenshi about 2 years ago, since then I installed and played it each 4 - 5 months. I really enjoy this game it one of a kind.
Yesterday I found out there is new patch, new map, new stuff .. so I tried it.
1.First of when I spawned, there was fog, or clouds or something, I could not see anything .. really anything, even if I zoomed in or out. Thought its view distance or graphic problem, wich was weird I played Kenshi before on maximum, so i turned graphics on total low, still no difference, then I checked on internet and I found out about "fog lands" I can see how begginers or even old players like me would think the game is broken, I couldnt even see my character when I zoomed in .. at least reduce fog density or delete possibility of spawning in fog lands
2. Then I spawned in some sort of hive, walked around a bit, exploring the map, got killed after i marched in enemy village (I started holy sword campaign) but no issues with gameplay no lags. Then I created new character again I spawned in border lands like I said I used to run this game on max .. after fog lands I changed graphics to minimum. Back to the problem - when I spawned in this looted destroyed city, lagging spikes started .. from 60 and more fps to 0 in 1sec .. and it happened every 5 - 7 seconds, it was unplayable, any solutions?
system specs:
Ideapad Y510P laptop
Nvdia GeForce GT 750M - slim
intel core i7 - 2,40GHz (8 CPUs)
Thanks

Oh, well, first, considering fog - here's a small mod http://www.lofigames.com/phpBB3/viewtop ... 11&t=10079 that solves the fog problem.
Considering lag spikes... how long you've been playing in total? Game is known to lag heavily after a period of time from, like, 30 minutes to couple o' hours, cure is to restart the game alltogether.

First of all welcome. I also don't have much time playing but I can say for a 2 days starter you have choose one of the hardest start. And the hives region is not a place where you can be alone. I got beaten there with a full squad of 10 peoples with best armors and weapons I could craft and some training. The worst part is that if you loose, the beak thing will eat you alive instead of leaving you alone so you can train toughness.
For the fog issue, which happen since recent updates, is a mod in the modding section. Check this link http://www.lofigames.com/phpBB3/viewtop ... 11&t=10079
And don't forget, the game is still in development, which is a complex process.

If you consider 78 hours (I played 2 hours per day) not much time spend in game, then yes I am begginer, at new map at least. Hives were supper easy, I just ran through whole thing exploring and stuff killed few wolf like creatures, I got killed by faction (I think they are called holy empire) from whom I stole sword. but thats not the issue
Velorio,
2 hours of straight playing can cause lag, especially if you are travelling a lot. i would recommend adjusting game settings
For performance issues: Reduce the terrain detail and view distance and turn off shadows.
For low memory: Reduce the texture quality and view distance.
this does help me a lot when I play kenshi for extended amounts of time.
also I haven't noticed anything in the border zone particularly my main base is there.
