yes, and added 2 more meat to dogs... so I am giving it another go, and so far so good i actually have time to mine and build up an outpost now.
Fumikomi & Kamae: Like the Yin and Yang create a symbiosis. One is not superior to the other, they are two parts of a whole.
I already had meat on the dogs with a mod. But they put more meat then I had so I took mine out.
But I still have meat 13 on beak things which the vanilla doesn't. (figure they are bigger then bulls so they should have more meat.)
Something very satisfying about putting those buggers over a fire, while half you party is resting on camp beds to heal up from getting the meat.

Like many things, this has a proven solution: Include this "Hunger Games" mode as a Difficulty choice. The Fallout 4 model comes to mind. For those who want "Survival Difficulty", let them choose to play that way. Make "Normal Difficulty" the default start, and either reduce the food/water/sleep requirements significantly or get rid of them completely.
Making a successful sandbox/rpg game is all about letting your players (customers!) choose how they want to play your game.

there is a Mod that turns off hunger if you dont want it. Also the hunger option was recently edited to take twice as long before you had issues with food now.

Well im using the bigger squad mod up im now upto 50 squad members and food isnt the problem.
pathmaking to the food storage is :p, so becos of this i m also using the no food mod.
Its a nice mechanic allthough i rather would see food as a number on my screen then an actual go to get item when im hungry becos of the pathmaking bugs... cos ive literally passed out infront of the food storage building cos im stuck at the door :p. this happened numerous times in different locations.
So in order not to micro manage all the characters with food i find it easier turned off just because of the pathmaking. Offc 1s this gets fixed ill turn the mod back off cos i like the feature its just the pathmaking bugs that ruin the fun

About food production, is there any way to set a stove to produce and infinite amount of something? Sometimes I forget to fill up my queues.
*EDIT* an OUTDOOR food storage (granary) would also be preferred. Pathing into my buildings seem to sometimes get temporarily bugged for some reason and people can't get to the food.

Yes the pathing is now the issue for me as well... the changes have made the hunger rate and food drop rate manageable, but now pathing is causing them to get stuck 3 feet from the food barrel, or even worse they get in the house where the food storage is, but for some reason will not take food from the barrel.
so far I have not had more than 20 or 30 in my faction so fixing the pathing as it occurs is not that big of a deal, but yes I can see that if I had 50 or what ever, this would quickly become a full time job to fix the broken pathing.

Have they added a way to automatically distribute/have characters collect/buy food?
My main issue is that with 28 characters, it's not getting the food, it's making sure everyone has some. That's a friggin pain.
Maybe a "cook" job designation? Automatically feeds hungry characters out of their inventory?

you build a food store
and supposed to be able to share from a character as well, though that's been bugged lately.

the problem with the food storage is that the pathing gets messed up and character will run to the food barrel to get food, only to get stuck on the stairs or the door frame and then starve to death 3 feet from the storage barrel.
if you notice this it is no big deal, you can manually move them to a new spot and they will reattempt the grab and succeed. but if you have split your group and have one set back at the town working the mines etc. and one group out exploring. you can indeed come home to the town to find people have died from starvation
