The game clock seems to be out of sync with the day. the clock will report 14:00 at sunrise and then the shops do not open their doors for a few hours after this. the exact time I am not sure of, but the clock would have said something like 18:00.

is this common? or just a problem on my system? I have only noticed this for the first time in 93.9

Strange, mine says about 20:00 is sunset and sunrise around 1, most stores are open from 8-1600 though so I didn't really think about it, just figured they shortened the nighttime. version 0.93.4

Yeah not sure time of day is working correctly right now. some stores are open some are closed, and I don't have a standard time that they open and close.

I was thinking that they change time of day to 1:00 being the start of the day instead of just after midnight. But not sure about that either.

I am not sure what is going on with the time sync thing. It has been reported a few times but I failed to reproduce it.
The sun position should be a direct function of the time. The sunrise time and sunset time are modable in the FCS in the global settings. Do you have any mods that could be affecting these values?

I can confirm it happens without mods. When I import or start a new game, the clock reads at 04:00 while the game world seems to be at 10:00. Store opening and closing times seem to be 6 hours earlier than what they used to be as well.

Could it possibly be caused by some local time offset accidentally being applied to the game clock? I just started a new game to test, and the game clock was set to 11:00, sunset also seemed roughly an hour late. Which correlates to my local GMT+1h time offset. I just checked Shidan's steam location, and he seems to live in a GMT-6h zone, which would also explain his game clock.

I had noticed my time was offset by the same amount as my timezone. Hadn't thought it might be related. But it seems really suspicious if yours is as well.

Edit: I changed my timezone on my computer as a test, and sure enough it changed how much I'm out of sync in game. So it's definitely the timezone causing it. Also explains why it not reproducible.

I have no mods on. The stores open at 12am, midnight, and open at 12pm, noon. If I go in a store at 1pm I'm liable to be chased out with weapons drawn, every time.

I wondered why this hadn't been addressed. Interesting some people are having different times than others, and that this hasn't been reproduced. It's been consistent with every playthrough for quite some time now. Always the same times for me.

I'd started to think it was weirdly intentional. ;)

Seems it was indeed adjusting for the local time zone.

UTC-08:00 right here, and the sun seems to go down at 1600, shops close at 1200.

That does actually seem like it could be tripping over the time zone.
