The fog in the Fog Islands/Tarsands is unbearable. It's ridiculous. Let me prove my point real quick.
There's a very interesting fight going on in this picture. Can you see it?

How about a bit closer?

Still can't see it? How about now?

You can just about make out me fighting a ton of Fogmen. That's about 5 meters of visability. 5 meters. If visability was that low in my room, I could barely make out the door from where I'm sitting.
Now, there's a bug where the fog doesn't quite load right, and doesn't load the pop-in fog that causes the low visability. This raises the visability to a more reasonable 20-30 meters, something that adds some atmosphere rather than anger. I don't currently have screenshots of it, though I can get some.
If the background-fog were to be raised to the height of the current pop-in, camera-following, thick fog there currently is, it would be ideal. It wouldn't be annoying, it would add atmosphere to the area, and it would conform to playability better.
Keep in mind that the current fog is only an excersize in wasting time. With the omni-present, time-controlling cammera the game currently has, I can still find the enemies, watch fights, and navigate, but it's painful. The fight that I posted pictures of? It took a few minutes for me to start that fight, because I couldn't find the enemies. It's not fun.

Update, here's a screenshot of the nice fog, that's technically a bug.

"Cave Johnson, new owner and CEO of Black Mesa. That's right, you've been bought. First order of business, we're renaming you under the Aperture brand. I'm leaning twords Blaperture Mesa. Marketing boys think something else, so Blaperture it is.
Hmm. I haven't had any real problems with the fog myself but looking at the screens you posted I have to admit, I feel for ya. I wouldnt mind a few instances with almost zero visibility but only in the lowest valleys and for a short time.
we're all still learning how to be better people (well, some of us.)

Its not supposed to look like that, and doesnt in my game. The "technically a bug" screenshot you posted is actually just it appearing normally. when you only have a meter of visibility, thats the bug.

Any fix to this bug? I've seen multiple posts on removing/fixing it, but are those to get it to normal, or are those to remove the fog entirely?

As annoying as that is (and weather or not it is or isn't a bug/intentional) I have had the unfortunate privilege of driving in exactly those conditions pre-sunrise. Thankfully I took the back route that has virtually no traffic that the other divers that were out were also smart to slow it down to 10 mph despite the posted limit being 50.EricTheEpic wrote: You can just about make out me fighting a ton of Fogmen. Its realistic however, I totally agree that in the interests of game design this should be fixed.
Some details on your graphics card might help the Devs figure out how its interacting with the particle generation

Alright then. I've got a GTX 760, and as far as I know, my graphics drivers are up to date. No other game has had issue. Incase they aren't, I'll download the newest version for my graphics card tommorow and will post results if anything changes.NeoCat wrote: Some details on your graphics card might help the Devs figure out how its interacting with the particle generation
