Are ancient books back at World's End stores?

Hi, vanilla game, no mods. Shopkeeper tells that ancient books are things that one would not usually find at a store. He has 4 ancient books in his inventory. Does this make sense?

Which shopkeeper? From my own experience, only the explorer shopkeeper actually sells them. What I think happens is that there is a chance that the shopkeeper sells an item once the stock refreshes. So every day the stock refreshes and there could be a chance that the shopkeeper sells them. Him having an ancient book in his inventory has basically nothing to do with him selling ancient books. Since he is not actually carrying the inventory, the shop counter is. If you look at it from a roleplay perspective he wants to keep those 4 books to himself not sell them.
