AI cores more abundant now?

I recently found like 8 AI cores in one tech lab (NOT a normal lab, in that case i haven't found anything at all). I did some imports and about the same amount was left (6-8).

So did something change in recent patches? If not then it's probably a mod that i installed. If yes, then i probably won't need tht mod anymore in the future.

on the other side i just started a new game and i cant find them anywhere except the scraphouse by black city

There are a few remote and dangerous places where they are easier to find. Some of the less remote or dangerous places are more picked over. It's payment for pushing past the comforts of the civilized areas into real dangerous areas.

the Tech lab i'm talking about is the one on the western point of Arach (where you know who resides, also sorry for spoilers) I haven't found any of those AI cores in any normal labs though.

Going to check it now. I've looted 50+ engineering research and 100+ advanced books, plus another 300k cats worth of generic loot , but i never went to that specific

Edit: Went to "lab no.2" which is still labled as an ancient tech lab on the map- did multiple imports and found only one in a random crate (strongbox) not even locked. just one after looting the place 3 times, so unless i just suck at looking i personally dont have a problem. i just bought all of the cores i needed anyway

Welp, i'm either stupid Lucky then or it is that mod (i thik it's called "Ai cores and science books Light edition" on steam) that's doing something.

The tech dudes up north can sell them, they even restock, but I believe they are quite rare. You can of course use your "special discount" for a chance of finding more of them, if you're lucky you'll find a ton of them.

If you zoom out all the way in the map and click the center you will end up in the deadlands. search for the black desert city (friendly) and then head a little east until you see the scraphouse. go upstairs and there will be a trader with all sorts of goodies. 25000 cats each core just so you know. also it's always raining acid, so give your humans acid protection, but beware swimming still does damage with it (hivers and skeles are immune) uploaded a close up screenshot of it.

Without mods u can fine few in tech labs and there is a very small chance that scraphouse will have them. They can have ai cores only once per game (import prob reset that) and it happens pretty rare. Some1 said they restock every 48h or so. I checked them 10 times, every 2+ days and found 0.

So if u found more then 1 ur cheating and/or using mods (seems like the same).
And actualy i dont blame u, AI cores are pretty annoying now, there are gona be other way to obtain them once full map is will be released.

Maybe to find AI cores you have to forget you were looking for AI cores? Because i've found exactly the amount i needed once i've abandoned the idea to find any at all! In case you wonder where - Horse knows the way. Kind of.

Oh, good to know. Besides i just found an interesting hiver in Mongrel called "Beep" i just had to take hims with me. He so cute.
Somehow reminds me of road runner lol. (might explain hy he's a hiver since they get a bonus increase in athletics lol)

I do not share your observation that AI cores would be more abundant now, on the contrary...

It's possible i was just extremely lucky. I just found 5 instead of 8. I think the reason why i have so many is because i have the AI cores light mod installed at steam.

Is there a way to delete a thread? Because most of my questions have been answered now.

It is guaranteed to find AI cores in Ancient Labs n.2 (it's name in the FCS is even Ancient Lab n.2 AI cores). I know you can find Labs n.2 in Shun South west of Arach, and at the end of The Iron Trail south west of the Leviathans Coast.
