So, ive been running about like a madman to get strenght. Wastes time that does, so i figured ... Sometimes when you initiate a move order over huge distances, your character gets stuck in an pathing loop. I had my character run from foglands (top right corner), to the hub, and he got stuck running in a tiangle. So lo and behold, i figured, why not, packed my backpack and left him there running for about 2 - 3 hours, before the pathing loop somehow fixed itself (he still ran the triangle but stoped after each one).
So my suggestion on getting strenght, if you dont want to keep having to click around, is to find a save pathing loop and simply enjoy doing other things.
A quick tip on how to get strenght easily.
Yeah there are other ways but none you can do while away, etleast not without building an outpost. Im trying to make a skeleton only group and cant find any to get so far, and getting str up is tedious work. I work 12hr days and i cant be bothered to spend 4 of it for like a week to get str to a good level ...
WIth skeltons it should be so much easier coz u dont need food....
buy 2 building in town (i rly love desert region for that), best that those 2 would be as far away as possible, staff them with some workbenches, full storage chests with ingredients, overload ur chars with heavy items (generator cores again, they are best, some can be found in mechanical shops sometimes, scrapyard also have nice stack), just leave enought empty space in their inventory for 1 part of item u need (like 1 chainmal sheet, iron plat or sth) and let them work.. go make diner, go to work or sleep, they will slowly do their thing doing a lot of walking and str training.
I think blackchainmail was best here - longest work time.
U get ur str training, and armor smith training and some money... win-win
U can also overload ur char and go fight hungry bandits unarmed, just make sure to wear good armor

Sorry for my bad english.
You can just modify them in the FCS.Elliote wrote: ↑Sun Aug 19, 2018 8:36 pmYeah there are other ways but none you can do while away, etleast not without building an outpost. You know, start your game with 50 in all stats. Or 80. Or 100. Or however much you want.
I mean, if you're just gonna let the game run for hours while you're AFK, exploiting a loop in order to grind some exp, then why not just modify the stats pre-game and then jump right into the setting of your own preference?

Its not as easy to set up as it used to be, but I would shift click one character to follow another, the 2nd character would do the same. Both characters wanted to stand behind the other so they'd end up running in a circle. You could add more people.
However, with the newer versions with the following and body guarding jobs I cannot replicate it as easily.
An alternative method I am looking at trying is to weigh a character down and have them martial arts fight someone. It has a similar strength exp boost to carrying a body but also gives exp to other skills.

I wish the laboring skill was tied into strength and toughness. For every three in laboring you have, you should get 1 strength, and for every 5 you should get one toughness. This would better represent the hard work in mines affecting your body and physique. Maybe even tie other skills into other attributes as well.

I recently downloaded a mod called (something ike) "Hard Labor Increases Strength"philthymcnasty wrote: ↑Fri Oct 05, 2018 6:31 amI wish the laboring skill was tied into strength and toughness. Basically, it makes it so that characters gain Strength instead of Labouring from mining Stone, Iron, Copper, etc. Honestly, it seems like they gain strength a bit faster than I'd prefer (I'd personally tune it down so they gain it at half the current rate), but I find it's a great way to get all my characters to the same level. I do however, have to keep an eye on them so they don't get "bugmastered" and smash everything in one hit, which takes a bit of the fun out of it.
TL;DR: There's a mod for that

Currently, I ended up with lots of small backpacks from slaver raids, I'd fill them with heavy stuff like iron ore and use these weight packs to add around 100kg to a character, pick up a prisoner, and load up the prisoner and the character with food. Then I'd order them to follow around the guy in my base who does a lot of hauling. Its very hands free with little idle time, assuming the hauler they follow frequently runs around. You can also add more people to follow the hauler as needed.
Kind of a later game method when you have a safe base but it works well at bringing people up to 60 strength, this means you can equip weapons below 30kg without immediate attack speed penalties.
