Anyone else having this problem? I go to fight a group, combat is going well, then they get a streak of hitting me exclusively in the chest or stomach. From what I can see, about 4/5 hits are on my chest or stomach. Lately it's been my chest, however previously it was my stomach. No clue what's going on. I lose so many battles that I should win because of this, and have to save-scum.

Similiarly to this, I've had enemies survive so much longer than they should because my hits landed evenly across all of their limbs. I've also had pretty strong enemies go down immidietly because I hit them only in the head/chest/stomach. Stuff like this makes it hard to play sometimes. Rarely do I go into a battle and win, even with a pretty good character, and I often have to repeat the battle until they don't hit me in the chest 5 times in a row, instantly downing me.

It's random. Each body part has a chance to be hit, with the chest and stomach having higher than the others. There is also quite likely a modifier based on whether the parts is already damaged, possibly to simulate the targeting of weak points.

I don't really see an issue here, considering it works both ways. It can be mitigated quite a bit with armour and your defence skill. And even if you get defeated, it's not game over. You'll likely survive the encounter and walk it off stronger. Which is pretty much the whole premise of the game.

If it's random, I must be the most unlucky person there is. At most, a fourth of my enemies go down quickly (Due to repeated hits on the same area), however over half the time, I go down quickly, so what's happening there?

For chances of getting hit, I think legs would take around 30% of the hits, being a large portion of the body, however largely below where most strikes aim. Arms would take another 20-30%, blocking many attacks that would go to the chest or stomach. Chest/stomach would take around 20% of the hits, being where the attacker would try to aim his strikes. That's about how you thinki it would go right? In my case, that's wrong. On average, my arms and legs combined take 40% of the hits, where as the chest/stomach take 50%. Maybe I'm just really unlucky, I dunno.

In this case, it is game-over if I go down, because I'm sat in Mongrel, mainly because Fog Prince heads bring in good money.

For refference of equiptment, I'm using a katana, and wear one of the light-armor undershirts, a pair of pants that do nothing, and sandals. Basically, a dexterity training loadout. Due to most Fogmen using blunt weapons, wearing heavier armor wouldn't do much, due to it's poor defense against blunt attacks. As such, I don't wear it because it would only slow down my attacks and my dexterity training.

My last three play-throughs have all been solo plays, wanting to test out the combat system, and I've noticed it seems to be skill related. If I'm going against weaker opponents, if they hit me at all they tend to hit me in the limbs. Against stronger opponents I tend to hit them in the limbs, and they hit me in the head, chest, and stomach more.

I don't know that it actually works this way, but it seems consistent to my play-throughs.

My current character is between L50-60 in most skills, and the fights are getting pretty epic. This character can stand up to quite a bit. I'm winning most fights, to my surprise. Mind you I put these characters through hell to get them so tough.

This current character practically lived out of the Hub until they could beat the Bar Thugs there. I just kept healing and asking for a rematch. Only left to pick up a new first aid kit at the Hive Village, then it was right back at it.

Eric, your numbers sound pretty close to right as far as I can tell. Here are the numbers pulled right from the game.

Right Leg: 12.5%
Left Arm: 12.5%
Left Leg: 12.5%
Head: 12.5%
Stomach: 21.875%
Right Arm: 6.25%
Chest: 21.875%

Here they are put together in the groups you mentioned. Pretty close to the numbers you said you were getting. ;)

Limbs: 43.75%
Stomach/Chest: 43.75%
Head: 12.5%

Since you mentioned you're not wearing much real armour, that would explain why you go down so fast. If there is a modifier based on how damaged the body part is, then all it would take is one hit to give it a significant bonus chance to getting hit. Which would give it another bonus if it got hit again.
