Is there multi player
I dont know if you have thought about it or what but a multi player idea would be great. if i wanna play with friend who can run around with me in my world i would buy more copies to dominate with them.
Not sure if you would make it so you have to start new characters or if like borderlands you just join there game from where they are up to etc.
would be nice as i have a few friends interested and the idea of a joint experience to help each other would be very worth wild. i like the idea of maybe a player profile that can go from who ever host the games map.

Has been asked before already, use the search function. Chris clearly said that there won't be multiplayer support.
It would require a rewrite of almost all the code. It's probably also impossible to mod it in.

I love LAN gaming, but sadly such an idea just will not work. Kenshi is too complex, mainly because everything on the map will be in real-time and every NPC's actions will be dictated by many things. Basically Kenshi multi-player would have too many sync errors just like the Guild II, there is just too much data to synchronise.Plus Chris said no.

I disagree, the whole idea would be an amazing experience and allow for some great Co-op moments. Its not that the idea is stupid, its just that it would be too difficult to create a stable version.

If co-op were to be implemented in this style of game it would work best if you just controlled individual people within the same party. You could work together in an area with shared control or split up and each handle different tasks. There would be no reason to have separate teams set up with such a huge world; although i admit the concept would also be cool.
Not that it will happen and I respect the decision to focus solely on single player. A good focus with nothing that will be shoe-horned in just to tick a box.

it would be good when this game is finished for a multilayer version like MMO or something with individuals guys or what ever maybe create guilds and massive slave trades or players

Would be too small of a world for an MMO, however it would be cool to capture a player and sell em as a slave.Kenshi. The only way that Kenshi will have a multi-payer is if someone creates a mod, which will be very complicated.

It's more like impossible to mod in actually without hardcoding it since singleplayer and multiplayer modes are fundamentally different.

I think it is great, that the single player experience is what counts here. A lot of features still need to added to the game; by NOT adding multi-player functionality another layer of complexity can be avoided, and make developement a little easier/faster.
If a Kenshi 2 is ever planned, adding some sort of coop or multi-player might be considered then, imho

Multiplayer would play too weirdly, and require FAR too much communication to even be acceptable. Assuming each player played like they do now, two squads of roving badasses could be trained up and while awesome, would have to compete for supplies, space, and bandit spawns. (Eventually, if they built a town or something, I'm sure we'd have some Caesar/Pompei politics.) I'd dig to see it in action, but I'd be loathe to try it with any more then the best of my friends.

@rhydain thats why they have be talking about controlling only one person.
i would like the idea of myltiplayer but what would happen when someone kills you?
also i would like to suggest something for the myltiplayer (if there will ever be 1):
can buy guards: have your own squad running around with you would be too much (esecially if someone gets a 100 guys to charge at you
. but when you get a town how about having the abillity to hire people (and train them) to be guards at the town, they would only do nothing but guard the town against anyhting that could hurt the town, eat, sleep, and train.

Well, considering there is only a single guy developing and he has said that he won't be making it multiplayer I'm going to hedge my bets and say its virtually guaranteed not to have multiplayer.wolfwood296 wrote:i know this idea is if there would be one later, which MIGHT happen

This is already planned for the game. Not only guards, but soldiers, blacksmiths, doctors and probably a lot of other different minions like miners or farmers or taxes collectors. They will all be able to work in a semi-automatic fashion. You are supposed to be able to play |Kenshi with a single character or with a squad but also end up playing with a whole faction if you want.wolfwood296 wrote:how about having the abillity to hire people (and train them) to be guards at the town

In essence, every character is the main character. When your first person dies it is not the end, but just a footnote in a very long book.(Now that is a work of art).
You are not a character, you the player plays the role of an entire faction. So theoretically your will (or characters actions) are through the will of the faction. Basically, the only things the player has absolute control over is anything belonging to the same faction.
Yeah, I like the idea of controlling every minion (way better than Evil genius henchman control)

I fail to see how it would be so hard to let someone else join your game. He controls his people and you to yours. Sure it would be a lot to process, but this game isent going to be small forever. If 3 people can make an online mod for skyrim, a developer and a team can make one for this.
