Hi all,

I have noticed that when i equip my guys with staffs - from outlaw farmers, so poor quality - for training nothing much happens.

I had them begin at skill 1 polearm and mist if them are now at 16 to 18 skill.

But no visible stat gaining.

On the other hand, i have a char with a plank, also medium quality and he gains str like..... crazy

Then some guys have longswords if pretty high quality abd seem also to gain good dex and a bit str.

I know for dex katanas are best and str the heavies. But is there any connection in gaining speed to weapon quality?

Thx for input.

For all i know, it might even me quite the opposite. Skills ticks at hit. So, you have a staff, you hit a target, skill "ticks", i.e. gains some percentage to the next level. So, as lower quality weapon tend to deal less damage, it takes more hits to defeat the opponent, therefore, more skill "ticks" from a single fight. I'm not sure about stats, but skills should work exactly this way.

Also figured that the rusty weapons were better for training attack because the fights lasted longer. As for strength and dexterity, it seems like higher quality weapons are heavier so strength would increase faster. As for dexterity, a heavier weapon might have an attack speed penalty that would slow down skill increases, not sure about this though.

the lower quality weapons makes the fights last longer, so you gain more skill
but. it also depends on the skill of the target as well. you will gain more if they are higher level then you are. and losing to them is the best way to learn as you get the most XP that way.
Do you believe the sexes should be equal?
Oh heavens no.
Then Men would become unmanageable
