I found myself very often in situation where I want to give people their limbs back, so that they don't crawl around awkwardly. But I'm not that unselfish to buy things for them or craft for them. And then illumination! (wtf xd)
Right now what we have (agreeing is damn cool) is either nothing or an advanced robotic implant, something inbetween might not be bad. Just a non very functional limb replacement that at least lets characters walk, or have a (not so) handy hand.
Combined with my other feature request (npc pick up items), might make them search for "prostheses" (maybe some stick spawning around that could be put in that slot) if they have missing limbs.
Npcs might also spawn with wooden prostheses and have a bad past as a backstory.
What I'm picturing is essentially what pirates looks like, just a wooden stump that makes you limp, at least you stand tho. No running, no 2 hands weapons, awkward unarmed fights maybe.
I know it could be made by mods (I'm already doing something similar), it's just silly a character is condemned to crawl forever, I would like to see something like this in the game.
Wooden prosthesis

I like it if the HN didn't mind basic wooden ones, so you could at least limp though their territory without 1000 paladins swarming a cripple
oh, hai
Also HN could use (only?) them, didn't think specifically of it but sure, makes sense. I probably wouldn't use the wooden prostheses I'm talking about, but now that you mention it could be a way to visit HN towns not crawling (I didn't yet go into HN territory with robotic implants, might be something even more useful than I thought)

I've been thinking about HN reacting to cripples and about ways to counter it as well. They've already got all the hate in the world, so there should be a way of crippled living withing that nation. A wheelchair? Not untill we got mounts, if we'll get them
Maybe Hive prosthetics could cause a less violent reaction. Even though these are repurposed skeleton parts, by description they seems to be quite dead, and not much diffirent from a simple stick. Not sure about arms, but legs are indeed pretty much sticks.

Laughing too hard to myself picturing happy wheels' physics in kenshi.
The wheelchair sounds extreme tho, I mean impersonating a kenshi character I would kill myself if I was in the condition to never walk again. Well unless I was a noble.. Or some kind of boss, but I suspect the later would be killed to take his place before he could think to do it himself. Or I had prostheses, wait, they could have them. Not that I wouldn't like to see characters wheeling around xd
Now that you mentioned it, there's a little flaw in my request. "Sticks" are functional if you only miss one leg, while it could be made for both, I wouldn't be that realistic, unless the devs can make it so you can only equip one leg of that type.
Yes hive robotics are pretty much crap, but you can see they have some kind of motor or hydraulics since they bend and are very functional, you just get bad stats.

Yeah I'm an idiot.

But yeah, probably something with even worse stats and like 25 HP for a non-god offensive leg is definitely needed. They should have way to treat their own amputees after all.
Actually, hive legs may not even have any motor, just some clever spring loaded joint, like simple real life legs do. From what i've heard, their movement seems pretty normal too.
That's a point, it just seems a very natural movement, like you can bend your knee at will, they also are robotic limbs I guess for a reason, but that may be changed since there's little of robotic in appaerance.
But yeah, I'd kinda prefer something just worse that better pictures the cruelty of life in Kenshi.

From 0.98.10 patch notes:
"-Added cheaper robot repair kits. It's false economy though, you don't get as much for your money"
Don't know if it's wood, but is bad and cheap xD
EDIT: Nope, I guess I read the line bellow talking about Robotic Limbs and mixed up the things... sorry about my misreading skills.

I think they just mean cheaper price (or a cheaper version of the repair kit, less charges/quality), those things are so expensive you can't repair yourself for a while if you play a skeleton, on the other hand you can make a fortune hunting down the right npcs, now that there (potentially) are robotics on everyone, I guess they'll add more repair kits around too. That price just didn't fit, even if combining all the parts needed to craft one you get that value, it's just not good having it in the wild. I did cut it in half myself, still a big value for that kind of item.
