Slavery is a great way to temper new characters for the struggle of life. Living as a slave means free access to food and top-notch medical care; your hunger will never drop below 115 while enslaved, and your masters will always give expert medical care if you become injured. If you manage keep your limbs throughout those first few beatings, you can reliably train up your Toughness by attacking masters or other slaves and then letting the masters heal you after you collapse into unconsciousness. These brawls also increase your Dodge, Martial Arts, and Dexterity. You can even work on your Melee Attack skill by taking advantage of any nearby training dummies once the guards are asleep.

After you are escorted to you cage for the night, you can work on your Lockpicking, Stealth, Thievery, and Assassination skills (Stealth KO attempts are a good way to transition into Martial Arts training), and you never have to worry about the consequences of getting caught or bleeding out due to the first-class medical treatment offered by your captors. On top of all of this, the Obedient Slave job provides passive and potentially even AFK training for Athletics and Labouring (and Strength as long as you load up your inventory up with extra shackles.)

As a kind of proof-of-concept, I started a new game as a slave, encumbered him with chains, and left the game to run on full speed while I took a nap. When I awoke, my slave had achieved 90 Labouring, 82 Strength, and 84 Athletics, however it is worth mentioning that I take very long naps. After stealing some food and fully recovering from malnutrition, my slave was able to tear off his shackles barehanded and outrun his captors to freedom all while carrying a second slave with very good stats over his shoulder.

While many criticize slavery as a crime against humanity, we should not disregard the five-star healthcare, the training opportunities, the steady supply of meals, the general air of safety and security, the unparalleled access to a huge pool of potential party members, and all of the other benefits that slavery can provide for a new character with no skills.

Has anyone else had a similar experience with the slavery system? Are there even more opportunities or benefits that I have overlooked here? Please share your own thoughts and experiences below.
