Greetings everyone!

First, as everyone else has stated, this game is off to a great start and is full of potential.

One of the things in the latest patch that I wanted to explore is the ability to give first aid to other factions to change reputation with them. I really wanted to test this and see if there were any bugs or exploits. This is what I have discovered so far:

1. It is hard to take advantage of this ability due to the fact the AI is so self efficient. Unless there is one lone solder, incapacitated, then you cant reach the NPC before he or his partner applies first aid.

2. Applying first aid to a "hated" factions gives your own faction instant negative %50 reputation with all other factions. I find this a bit unrealistic. First, unless there are observers near by, who would really know you did it. It would take time for the NPC to share his story and spread your infamy. It wouldnt be so bad at this early stage, except for part 3.

UPDATE: I have been told this is false and what I saw was the NPC's reputation, which is highly possible. I will see to it tonight and update again.

3. If you are lucky enough to give first aid to an "honorable" faction, you get a red bar that gives temporary increased prestige with the group. I noticed after I was done with the application of first aid, this temporary status starts to decrease and is eliminated altogether in time. That means all reputation falls back to 0.

UPDATE: Apparently over many, many heals there can be a base reputation higher than zero.

So, here are my open questions.

1. Why such the harsh negative penalty for healing enemies? It makes being the red cross really hard.

2. How can we develop permanent increases to reputation? what more is there to do besides applying first aid?

Cheers

i havn't see any penalty for healing the enemy even when there are other factions around...

as far as i know it increases the reputation by one every like 10-15 people you heal, though i've only tested it on enemy factions

The -50 you're seeing is the relation level of the enemy(bandits, sand ninjas) you're currently healing with the other factions, not your relation level. Afaik there's no negative impact for healing anyone.

As for the long term bonus when healing "honorable faction", it exists , but it's much smaller than the short term bonus and as such you'll need to heal a bunch of peeps to see a difference.

Thanks for the information. Sorry for the confusion (I'll edit my post above). Has anyone actually increased their reputation with the bandits so high that they stop attacking your faction on sight?

i'm workin on it, so far i've gotten sand ninjas up to -20 as far as i know all factions stop attacking after you get above -10

EDIT: i also have the traders attacking on sight because of the things i've done to them, have around -12 with them right now.

^^^ Hahahaha loving it, while I can almost never bring myself to hack on 'carebares', I love it how there are pirates in every game :P

i just did it cus i wanted to take on a challenge, the trader's guild is tough cus of how fast their numbers increase, of course i never intend to kill my targets, each time i attack a group i always try to heal em all as quick as possible.
