How do you buy buildings in towns?

I know it was a listed feature in the latest big update but how do you actually do it?

I haven't done it myself, but from what I've heard, you left click on the door to the building. Then in the hud area where it show's the door's health, there'll be a buy button.

That's how it's done. Prices range from a few thousand cats for the smallest buildings to 120k for some of the big outpost buildings. Any furniture present in the buildings will be erased after buying it though. I assume this is a bug.

I don't think its a bug tho dude, I mean think about it. When u buy a house in 'Reality'(that thing we all try to avoid) unless its a 'package' deal it comes empty. means u can set it up to your liking.

Nevertheless it's annoying if you just want to have a safehouse with some basic furniture, without having to get into base building right away (you have to research basic storage options, beds, etc.). If anything there should be an option to either keep the furniture or delete it.

It really doesnt matter, the furniture should be included because otherwise you have to set up a tech bench in your house just to be able to get a bed. I dont see every other citizen in the town needing a team of researchers to furnish their homes.

Well, lets face it. You DO require a team of researchers to make a bed. You're not the sharpest tool in the shed. But hey, your good with a sword. Anyways, some of the houses are so clogged with crap like barrels and unopenable chests, that if it didn't clear them out they would be useless to you.

Well if you own the furniture after buying the building you could simply dismantle it.

a setup to dismantle it may not be in place, since you cannot build it yet.

I just build a research table in the corner of the room and get the tech for basics. ie: Bed, Training Dummy, ect. No need to build a base for ages. In Brink there is a building that costs only 1200c. Has enough room for essentials, and building materials generally cost what u get for a looted sabre.
