Quickly putting this up, I have an issue with shopkeepers in Kenshi. They have an inventory of items to keep, and the "shop-window" would be their shelves, so why do I have to reorganize their shelves EVERY time I come to town and they have new stock? They have all the time in the world to organize their stock to accommodate incoming salvage while I am out and about looting the dead.
Have an algorithm that sorts the shop keepers inventory for maximum space every time it repopulates its stock. Back to playing trader shuffle...

This is a known issue, however you can currently sell things at the bar shop counters which have quite a bit of free space as a workaround to inventory tetris for the time being.

Until then, maybe you need a theme song to ease the pain of organization.

What i do is buy a house in the city and put storage boxes in it so if i cant sell everything i put it in there till the shops go empty then sell the next badge of goods :p
Lets be honest u need like 4guys fully packed to get the shops totaly full (in a city).
Unless your carrying trader bags full of hackers offc.
But a diversity of sizes would fo aswell or beeing able to turn stuff around. (Yes like tetris) :p
So another way around it would be dont wait to long to sell.

Yeah, I too recall the horror back when I was buying ''construction materials'' in town rather than cranking them out at my mine how I would carve out some skimpy room on the merchants side just enough for my rusty swag picked up on the field, only to see the merchants inventory filled again only a few seconds later when I sent in a new ''packer'' to load up while my cats quickly vanished.
Nowadays, it is alot easier. Bread and fabric ''boxes'' are small and take up little room as does rum, but all are great moneymakers and I can always sell my whole inventory with each trip to town. This is the heart of why KENSHI is such a great game.
You are compelled to evolve and are rewarded appropriately when you do.

Ahh good old Korobeiniki. That's what that song is called BTW. I was half expecting some sort of "truffle shuffle" or "do the hustle".Phaser Rave wrote:Until then, maybe you need a theme song to ease the pain of organization.
But here's a question for everyone. In human terms, can you write a set of steps for sorting an inventory? How do you know how to organize items to value completely filling some rows, and othere not?
