Thus far it's been very enjoyable, however I'm curious is there a way to loot credits off the bodies? I might be missing something here.

I do not believe it is possible yet. Hopefully it will be implemented soon.
This being said, The only thing I've noticed dropping credits are the town guards/trader guards.
So it's not like it's a big rush....Unless you've gone rogue with your army of 50 strong this early O_o?

Haha sadly not. I encountered a few dead trader guards on my wandering travels with 500 credits on them. Pitty.. at least their armor came useful.
