Hej Guys
I played this very epic game now about 2 hours ( died 3 times xD ), but I was wondering about the research menu and the building menu. How I can use researching? Everytime when I'm clicking on "Bed" to research it and I'm waiting these 5-7 hours, nothing happens.
So How I can use the Research system? Is it in the game yet?

you need the get the basic outpost blueprints located in the building with a wrench and a hammer. ( located in every city )
it costs 1,500 cats.
to learn it right click it ( if you're wearing a backpack make sure to close it before right clicking the blueprint. )
you can buy other blueprints in other towns to get new research options and armour and weapons.
Do you believe the sexes should be equal?
Oh heavens no.
Then Men would become unmanageable

You need a research bench.
And to get a research bench you have to buy the right blueprint from a construction shop on a city. I forgot what its called exactly. Something like the settlement starter kit. Its a large blueprint.
But you need a bit of money and at least 4 dudes to start building. As you need to buy the blueprint and the building materials.
Also the first two buildings you want are the stone mine and stone processor. Then you can make your own building materials.
So once you has enough people and have them equipped with armour and weapons from bandits and stuff then you can start building a settlement to research stuff.
But you need a good location. A location that has trade caravans passing by as they buy some of the stuff you make. Its good to attach yourself to a trade caravan and see where they go and look for any other trade caravans that pass close by. I've put my settlement in between two cities called brink and traders edge. Also another city called clownsteady sends trade caravans to traders edge. And there's another long distance trade route that passed by that area too. Only problem with that location is the bandits. There's a mountain pass that that only way to get through so caravans, bandits and other armies go through. But if you do some exploring you could probably find a place with less bandits.
Once you have found a place where trade caravans pass and you have the materials and the blue prints then you can start building.
To use a blueprint you have to right click on it. Just open the character with the blueprints inventory and right click. Though make sure if he's wearing a backpack you close it. Otherwise it just moves the blueprint to the backpack. Once that happens a few basic buildings will appear in the build menu.
So you first want to build a stone mine an stone processor. So go to the build menu click the stone mine and a green ghost of the building will appear. It goes red when you can't build it because of bad terrain, people in the way, other buildings in the way. Left click to place the building and it will place a green copy on the ground. Once you are done placing the building(s) press the spacebar. The spacebar will leave build mode. Then tell your dudes to start building by selecting them and right clicking. Shift+right click will mean that's his job he will do forever. It will appear in his job list. So If you do this while building something he will become an engineer.
Once you have the stone processor and stone mine you can build a small shack and a research bench. The research bench can only be built inside. If you try build in it outside it will be blue telling you its an interior building.
Then you can start researching. Keep in mind you have to have someone working at the research bench.
Also a tip when upgrading buildings after you research certain technologies. You don't have to keep building new copies of them. That was a mistake I made. You can just click on the building and click the upgrade button. This doesn't apply all the time sometimes you have to build the next one up seperately.
So yeah it takes a long time to get to that stage.
