So, shift-F12 is editor mode, does this mean I can put down my own outpost without having to build everything, or create custom towns? Is it functioning properly? I'm kind of scared to try this out as I don't want to corrupt anything and have to reinstall the game again.

thats for building NPC's towns
and can cause the city to stay persistent across new game starts. ( if you hit save in the editor )
I have tried to use that before to build my own base, it didn't work out so well.
Also the editor is bugged and only way to fix it is once you exit the editor is to save your game and restart.

Using the in-game editor is really difficult, but when u understand how to use it, you can build some awesome new NPC towns. I got two dust bandit camps and a town run by criminals on my game.

Well the problem I have is, it crashes the game CONSTANTLY. I figured out most of it, I don't quite get what re-path does, and populate seems to KINDA work.

Ya but I don't know what this does persay, does this build pathes around new buildings? Or do something entirely different. I mean if it takes all new buildings and whatnot into consideration, this might be an extremely good way to play around with new towns and testing purposes.

it rebuilds the navigation mesh the AI uses to run around buildings and objects, find doorways and such.
Every time you place a building or a wall. it breaks the navmesh.
so using Ctrl + Shift + F11 rebuilds it around the new placed objects so the Ai can mostly move around objects correctly.

Don't rebuild the Nav-mesh (re-path) til your absolutely finished with what your building, it seems to be impossible to delete walls that u placed with editor after u rebuild the nav-mesh (re-path).
